Hazrat Ala’uddin Ali Ahmed Sabir Rahimahullah was born on the 19th of Rabi-ul-Awwal
592 A.H. at Hirat in Afghanistan. He was the great grandson of Sheikh Abdul aadir jilan dis l goj.
When he began to speak, his first words were “La Moujuda Illa-Allah” meaning “There is nothing present but Allah.” At the age of 7, he adopted regular fasting & Tahajjud. When his mother insisted upon him not to perform such spiritual striving he simply said, “My dear mother, I can’t help it. I wish to burn myself in the devotion of Allah. I really enjoy this life.”
His mother took him to her brother, Shaykh Baba Farid Rahimahullah, for his spiritual training. He put him in complete charge of the Langar Khana & the distribution of the food. His sister told him to look after her son as he was very fond of fasting & that she will return after 12 years. When she returned after 7 years, she was shocked to find her son a living
“skeleton” & complained to her brother. When Shaykh asked him as to the reason for him not eating from the Langar, He replied: “I was instructed to distribute Langar & not to eat from it.” Shaykh Farid embraced Shaykh Sabir with love & bestowed upon him the title of “Sabir.” Shaykh Farid once said: “The knowledge of my chest was given to Shaykh Nizaamuddin while the knowledge of my heart enriched Shaykh Sabir.”
The Janazah of Hazrat was unlike any other. On the day of his passing, even the ghusl and other rites were performed without the body being touched.
Then, as Hazrat Shamsuddin Turk RH prepared for the Janazah Salah, a veiled man stepped forward and took his place as Imam.
The Salaah was completed. Hazrat Shamsuddin turned for Salam and was astonished to find the gathering filled with Auliya Allah, Rijaal and Abdaal.
He then asked the veiled Imam who he was.The man lifted his veil and said: “The Janazah of the faqeer is read by the faqeer himself.” It was Hazrat Sabir Paak.
Hazrat Shamsuddin collapsed and remained unconscious for two days.
Recite Surah Fatiha, 3 Quls, 3 Salawat and gift the reward to his noble soul.
