Latika Katt: “Growth” 2023
Wood and copper
115 x 15 x 23 in / 292 x 38 x 58 cm

Latika Katt’s career as a sculptor spans over six decades. Two constant influences shape her practice: nature and the city she has called home for most of her life, Varanasi.

While she has worked extensively in a figurative mode, with several important commissions to her name, Katt is best known for her abstract work. She has experimented with a wide range of materials and techniques, including modelling, carving, and casting. “Growth” is one of two large suspended wooden sculptures currently on display which draw on the natural characteristics of found branches and their linearity.

The 5th Edition of the Sculpture Park Jaipur is currently on view at Jaigarh Fort until October15th, presented in collaboration with the Jaipur Centre for Art.

“Afra Al Dhaheri: Restless Circle”
30 August – 14 December 2025
Gallery 6, Al Mureijah Square, Sharjah

We are pleased to share that Afra Al Dhaheri, currently featured in the Sculpture Park, now presents her first institutional solo exhibition at Sharjah Art Foundation.
Bringing together new and recent works in rope, fabric, cement and hair, “Restless Circle” considers the effects of tension, repetition and time. The exhibition takes its title from a newly commissioned installation inspired by desert plants whose spirals in the sand reflect ceaseless movement, a metaphor for collective burnout and the fatigue of ongoing, invisible labour.
Through gestures of looping, undoing and redoing, Al Dhaheri reflects on what remains held together, what comes apart, and the quiet knowledge that forms through repetition.

Curated by May Alqaydi, Assistant Curator, Sharjah Art Foundation.

"A line for the eye to wander" is one of two site-specific installations currently on view created by Afra Al Dhaheri from Abu Dhabi. Using a combination of materials and the incomplete drawings of the wall painters, the artist finds multiple meanings in her mediums and grounds herself within the process of making.
Afra's participation at the Sculpture Park was generously supported by Green Art Gallery of Dubai.
