Transforming a Familiar Urban Encounter into a Temporary Landscape of Perception| Atelier JR

What happens when one of Paris' most familiar landmarks ceases to be a bridge and becomes an experience?
With La Caverne du Pont Neuf, French JR Artist transforms the historic Pont Neuf into a monumental cave-like landscape that visitors can enter, navigate and inhabit. The installation revisits the relationship between public art, civic space and collective experience, temporarily reimagining a place of passage as a site of exploration and discovery.
The project extends a broader conversation about how art reshapes our encounter with the city—not through objects alone, but through participation, perception and shared memory.
