Bhog ceremony of the legendary was held in . As a tribute to his memory, the family served special alsi pinnis— that Fauja Singh cherished and had every day for breakfast.

Harvinder Singh, son of Fauja Singh, shared that his father never missed a single day without having alsi pinni and would even have it during Summers. He had fresh pinnis made days before his death, the son said.

Japneet, who was considered the most favourite of was devastated. Broken, she just wanted one thing. "I just want to shake hands with Baba ji, like I always did," she said.
For Japneet, that daily handshake with her grandfather had become a ritual. The day he passed away, she had shaken his hand and gone off to study, never knowing it would be the last time.

Canadian NRI Amritpal Singh Dhillon (26), who had returned to his native Dasupur village of Kartarpur, had run over his Toyota Fortuner over marathoner Fauja Singh. He has reportedly confessed to the crime. He was going from Bhogpur to Kishangarh when the accident took place. Police arrested him last night.
