সাম্প্রতিক বন্যায় ভীষণভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছিল ডুয়ার্সের রামশাই ও কাশিয়াবাড়ি এলাকা। সেখানে গতকাল ৯ অক্টোবর পৌঁছে গিয়েছিলেন শিলিগুড়ির ন্যাফ (HNAF) সদস্যরা। সঙ্গে ইন্ডিয়ান মেডিকেল এসোসিয়েশনের সাতজন ডাক্তার ও নার্স সহ মেডিক্যাল টিম। না, স্রেফ ত্রাণ পৌঁছতে বা বিলি করতে নয়, দুর্যোগ বিধ্বস্ত সর্বস্বান্ত মানুষগুলিকে সুস্থতার ও সহযোগিতার আশ্বাস বাড়িয়ে দিতে। ডাক্তাররা চিকিৎসা করলেন অসুস্থ মানুষগুলিকে, ওষুধপত্র দেওয়া হলো তাদের হাতে। সেইসঙ্গে প্লাবিত এলাকার মানুষের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হলো পোশাক, বিস্কিট, বেবীফুড, স্যানিটারি ন্যাপকিন ইত্যাদি সব জরুরি প্রয়োজনীয় সামগ্রী। সবার উপরে অবশ্যই সহমর্মিতার স্পর্শটুকু।
এবারই প্রথম নয়, এর আগেও দুর্যোগকালে বিপন্ন মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়াতে বারবার বহুবার ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েছেন HNAF স্বেচ্ছাসেবীরা। আগামী ১২ অক্টোবর একইরকম ভাবে তাঁরা পৌঁছবেন মিরিকের সৌরেনি চা বাগান এলাকায়, সেখানেও বন্যায় ও ধ্বসে বিধ্বস্ত হয়ে রয়েছে বহু মানুষ ও ঘরবাড়ি।
সবাইয়ের কাছেই পৌঁছতে চায় HNAF, কিন্তু প্রয়োজন আরো অনেক অনেক অর্থ, আরো অনেক লোকবল। তাদের আবেদনে সাড়া দিযে যথাসাধ্য অর্থ সাহায্য পাঠান, স্বেচ্ছাসেবী হয়ে যোগ দিন।
On the 9th of October, first joint Relief and Medical Camp was launched in the severely affected village of Kasiabari, Ramsai, Dist Jalpaiguri. A team of 11 dedicated HNAF members, led by the Program Coordinator, Animesh Bose, joined forces with 7 Doctors' team from the IMA, along with Nurses and technicians led by Dr. Shanka Sen, Secretary, IMA (Siliguri Branch) reached the relief camp site.
HNAF teams carried not just supplies, but a promise of solidarity. They provided critical medical care to 278 individuals and distributed medicine, garments for children, sarees, baby food, biscuits and sanitary napkins, offering not just aid, but dignity and comfort.
On *Sunday 12th October*, the second phase will commence in Sourani T.E, Mirik Sub- Division, Darjeeling, where the needs are equally desperate. To continue this vital work, we urgently need your support. We appeal for donations to purchase medicines and rations, and in kind—specifically new clothes, blankets, dry food, and sanitary products.
Most importantly, they need volunteers to join us on the ground. Your manpower is the backbone of this effort.
