All those who studied in Jamia Millia Islamia during late 80s would always remember Jamia Times - the first wallpaper that stirred the campus with its interesting news items, thoughtful editorials and crispy comments on social issues. Nothing went unnoticed and nobody was spared. The hand-written copies of the weekly in Urdu, Hindi and English were pasted in all the faculties and at Shakir’s Hotel at Store every Sunday evening and for the next one week - not only students but the teaching and administrative staff would lineup to read its contents with smiling faces. JAMIA TIMES had developed great sense of belonging and attachment towards its institution and a great sense of ONENESS AND TOLERANCE among the students in general and boaders in particular. We still remember the last issue when we announced closure of the newspaper due to various reasons and how many letters we received to continue it. Three decades have changed the world a lot as Jamia is growing leaps and bound, alumni have spread to every nook and corner of the world and TECHNOLOGY has made the world small, it was on much demand that JAMIA TIMES is being RELAUNCHED in 21st century, this month, today, 2011. Now Jamia Times is being revived on the FB - We hope that all the Jamiaites will welcome this initiative and keep sending their valuable suggestions – So now afresh your memories and keep smiling – Jamia Times is here!
