उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने आज राज्य में जारी भीषण शीतलहर को देखते हुए कक्षा 12 तक के सभी स्कूलों को 5 जनवरी तक बंद रखने के आदेश दिए। यह निर्देश ICSE, CBSE, यूपी बोर्ड समेत अन्य सभी बोर्डों से संबद्ध सरकारी और निजी स्कूलों पर लागू होगा। प्रशासन के अनुसार, गिरते तापमान को ध्यान में रखते हुए यह फैसला छात्रों के स्वास्थ्य और सुरक्षा के मद्देनज़र लिया गया है।

बिहार के मधुबनी जिले में एक मुस्लिम मज़दूर की कथित मॉब लिंचिंग की कोशिश का मामला सामने आया है. राजनगर थाना क्षेत्र के चकदह गांव में करीब 50 लोगों की भीड़ ने खुर्शीद आलम को बांग्लादेशी बताकर बेरहमी से पीटा. घटना का वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल होने के बाद पुलिस ने संज्ञान लिया.

पुलिस के अनुसार जांच में पाया गया है कि पीड़ित बांग्लादेशी नहीं बल्कि बिहार के सुपौल जिले का निवासी है और दिहाड़ी मज़दूरी करता है. पीड़ित के बयान के आधार पर प्राथमिकी दर्ज कर ली गई है और आरोपियों की पहचान कर ली गई है. पुलिस अधीक्षक के निर्देश पर गिरफ्तारी के लिए विशेष टीम गठित की गई है. पुलिस ने बताया कि फिलहाल इलाके में स्थिति शांतिपूर्ण है और लोगों से भ्रामक या उकसाने वाली सामग्री साझा न करने की अपील की गई है.

A Muslim labourer, Khurshid Alam, was allegedly attacked by a mob in Madhubani after being accused of being a Bangladeshi national. According to reports, around 50 people assaulted him, triggering what locals described as an attempted lynching. Alam sustained serious injuries in the attack and was later rescued. Police said an investigation is underway and efforts are being made to identify those involved.

Police in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested six people for allegedly running a racket that fraudulently secured bail for accused involved in serious crimes, including murder and r**e.
According to the police, the gang posed as “professional sureties” and used forged land revenue records, fake Aadhaar cards and fabricated identity documents to arrange bail. Investigators said the accused charged around ₹20,000 per case and had secured bail in at least 23 cases so far.

The arrests were made following a tip-off, with teams from the Special Operations Group and local police carrying out the operation. All six accused have been produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.
