It would have been better if the government had announced a 5-day summer break immediately and then extended it by another 5 days later, using the 10 days in two parts — because today the heat is unbearable.

🌞 Heatwave Safety Guidelines – For Everyone in Kashmir

As Kashmir experiences unusually high temperatures, it's important for everyone—especially children, elderly, and outdoor workers—to take precautions to stay safe during heatwaves.

✅ Do’s:

1. Stay indoors during peak heat hours (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM).

2. Wear light-colored, loose cotton clothes to keep your body cool.

3. Cover your head with a cap, scarf, or umbrella when outside.

4. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you're not thirsty.

5. Use ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution), lemonade, or buttermilk to stay hydrated.

6. Keep your home cool using curtains, fans, or coolers.

7. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, especially water-rich ones like watermelon and cucumber.

8. Take regular breaks if working outside.

❌ Don’ts:

1. ❌ Avoid going out in direct sunlight between 11 AM and 4 PM.

2. ❌ Don’t wear dark, tight, or synthetic clothes.

3. ❌ Avoid tea, coffee, sugary soft drinks, and spicy or oily food.

4. ❌ Do not leave children, elderly people, or pets in parked vehicles.

🏫 If you’re a school or office:

Shift timings to early morning hours if possible.

Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat.

Ensure availability of drinking water and first aid.

🚨 Watch for Heat Illness Symptoms:

Seek medical help if you or someone has:

Dizziness or fainting

Fatigue or weakness

Dry mouth and hot skin

No sweating despite heat

Confusion or unconsciousness

---

🛑 Heatstroke is a medical emergency. Act fast. Stay cool. Stay safe.

😢 The poor are worried on Eid because they might not have enough money to buy new clothes, gifts, or food for their families, which are traditiona💔l aspects of Eid 🤔celebrations. Many people in poverty struggle to afford these basics, making it a stressful time for them. Some organizations and individuals try to help by distributing food, clothes, and other essentials to those in need.🤢
