*One Day Workshop on Cyber Crimes held at DPL Jammu*

🟣One Day Workshop on Cyber Crimes focusing on various types of cyber crimes and cybersecurity, was held today on 06.10.2025 at Conference Hall,District Police Lines Jammu.An interactive session on cyber threats, focusing on cyber crimes and cybersecurity witnessed huge participation of Police officers from Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range,besides good numbers of members from media fraternity.
About 200 officers Including probationary DySP’s and Probationary SI's actively participated in the session, asking pertinent questions and sharing their concerns about cybersecurity.
At the event *Mohd.Yaseen Kichloo(IPS), Senior Superintendent of Police at the Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence( CICE)*, Jammu and Kashmir, was the key Guest Speaker.
🟤The workshop was formally inaugurated by *DIG JKS Range Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma,IPS in presence of SSP Jammu Shri Joginder Singh,JKPS* and other officers of Jammu Police.
🟠In a proactive initiative to train officers to combat rising cyber threats and promote digital safety,the workshop covered topics including online fraud, phishing attacks, social media safety, and secure digital practices.
🔵SSP CICE J&K Shri Mohd. Yaseen Khichloo,IPS highlighted the evolving nature of cyber threats and the need for continuous learning and vigilance. He also shared insights into recent cases handled by the Cyber Crime Unit and urged attendees to adopt secure digital habits.Attendees engaged in discussions about prevention strategies and the significance of reporting cybercrime incidents. This initiative reflects the JKP commitment to raising awareness about critical issues affecting the community and empowering JKP with knowledge to navigate the digital landscape safely.
🟣SSP Kichloo delivered an enlightening presentation that covered a wide array of cyber threats and crimes, including hacking and cracking techniques, phishing and its various forms, whisking and pharming attacks, email bombing and its implications, the intricacies of salami attacks, steganography and its uses in cybercrime, skimming and its impact on financial security, vishing (voice phishing) tactics, and the dangers of po*******hy in the digital space. The guest speaker also highlighted essential preventive measures for each of these cyber threats, equipping JKP with practical strategies to protect their digital presence effectively.
🟢The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session and distribution of educational materials on cyber hygiene.
🟢Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative and called for more such programs across the region.The program's interactive nature fostered a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
🔴DIG Shiv Kumar emphasized the importance of community engagement in tackling cybercrime, stating, “Awareness is our first line of defense. By educating citizens, we empower them to protect themselves and report suspicious activity.”
🔵SSP Jammu Joginder Singh,JKPS reiterated the department’s commitment to public safety and encouraged collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community to build a safer digital environment.
