*TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR*
From *04-10-2026, 1600 hrs to 05-10-2026, 1600 hrs*, *very slow traffic movement* was observed on NH-44 due to single lane, undulating & uneven surface of the road at Dawal, Udhampur as well as the single-lane stretch between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of *03 vehicles between Ramban and Banihal* and the movement of *10 nomadic herds* (crossing Banihal-Nachlana).
Owing to ongoing movement of nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Marog to Kishtwari Pather is likely to slow down. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.

*Traffic managed on regulated manner at Dawal, Udhampur on NH-44 due to single lane about 30-40 Mtrs.*

*Passengers/LMV operators* are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW *during daytime. In view of *widening work* being undertaken by NHAI on *Digdol- Khooni Nalla axis* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, the movement of *Kashmir bound oil & gas tankers* shall remain *restricted* on this stretch during *daytime in between 0700 hrs to 1900 hrs* as the movement of *tankers loaded with inflammable material is restricted through tunnels*. As such the movement of *up tankers* shall be allowed *beyond Chenani only after 1700 hrs upto 0500 hrs.* Tanker operators are advised to plan their travel accordingly in order to avoid any inconvenience and for their safety.

Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators *carrying fresh perishable/live stock* are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is apprehension of shooting stones/ landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/578-86 dated 09-07-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No SDM/KNG/2025-26/487-88 dated 09-07-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL). *LMVs Passenger/Private Cars* shall be allowed to ply from both sides viz Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice versa on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. These vehicles shall be allowed to move *from PP Parana* towards Anantnag between *0800 hrs and 1600* hrs. and from *Daksum* towards Kishtwar between *0900 hrs and 1600 hrs. No vehicle* shall be allowed after cut off timing. TCU Jammu /Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.

*SSG ROAD*
As per order issued by the DIVCOM Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, *LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides* on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road, i.e., from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed to move from *Sonamarg towards Kargil and from Minamarg towards Srinagar* (only, after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies) *up to 1300 hrs*. However, *HMVs shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs,* and *no vehicle* shall be allowed *after 1700 hrs.* Motorists are advised to *carry and use anti-skid chain* to gain more grip on the slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SFs convoy moving on the SSG road shall plan their movement in such a manner that civil traffic is not disturbed.

*Mughal Road (NH-701A):-*
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF), vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to Ten tyres only) shall be allowed to ply on Mughal Road from both sides i.e. from Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Baffliaz) towards Shopian and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 0700 hrs and 1800 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed to proceed after the prescribed cut-off timings. As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/26-27/321-31 dated 03-07-2026. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.

From *30-09-2026, 1600 hrs to 01-10-2026, 1600 hrs*, *very slow traffic movement* was observed on NH-44 due to single lane, undulating & uneven surface of the road at Dawal, Udhampur as well as the single-lane stretch between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of *05 vehicles between Ramban and Banihal* and the movement of *09 nomadic herds* (crossing Banihal-Nachlana).
Owing to ongoing movement of nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Marog to Kishtwari Pather is likely to slow down. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.

*Traffic managed on regulated manner at Dawal, Udhampur on NH-44 due to single lane about 30-40 Mtrs.*

*Passengers/LMV operators* are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW *during daytime. Night travel* should be avoided due to the apprehension of *shooting stones/landslides, movement of nomads from valley as well as ongoing construction* work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

In view of *widening work* being undertaken by NHAI on *Digdol- Khooni Nalla axis* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, the movement of *Kashmir bound oil & gas tankers* shall remain *restricted* on this stretch during *daytime in between 0700 hrs to 1900 hrs* as the movement of *tankers loaded with inflammable material is restricted through tunnels*. As such the movement of *up tankers* shall be allowed *beyond Chenani only after 1700 hrs upto 0500 hrs.* Tanker operators are advised to plan their travel accordingly in order to avoid any inconvenience and for their safety.

Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators *carrying fresh perishable/live stock* are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is apprehension of shooting stones/ landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary haltage between Ramban and Banihal especially near landslide/shooting stone area.

*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 02-10-2026:-*
*Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44)*
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, *LMVs Passenger/HPVs/ Private Cars/HMVs* (Good carrier) shall be allowed from *both sides* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to *follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion* . TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.

*Army/SFs Convoy Movement: -*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

*Kishtwar-Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-*
As per order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/578-86 dated 09-07-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No SDM/KNG/2025-26/487-88 dated 09-07-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL). *LMVs Passenger/Private Cars* shall be allowed to ply from both sides viz Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice versa on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. These vehicles shall be allowed to move *from PP Parana* towards Anantnag between *0800 hrs and 1600* hrs. and from *Daksum* towards Kishtwar between *0900 hrs and 1600 hrs. No vehicle* shall be allowed after cut off timing. TCU Jammu /Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.

*SSG ROAD*
As per order issued by the DIVCOM Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, *LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides* on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road, i.e., from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed to move from *Sonamarg towards Kargil and from Minamarg towards Srinagar* (only, after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies) *up to 1300 hrs*. However, *HMVs shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs,* and *no vehicle* shall be allowed *after 1700 hrs.* Motorists are advised to *carry and use anti-skid chain* to gain more grip on the slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SFs convoy moving on the SSG road shall plan their movement in such a manner that civil traffic is not disturbed.

*Mughal Road (NH-701A):-*
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF), vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to Ten tyres only) shall be allowed to ply on Mughal Road from both sides i.e. from Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Baffliaz) towards Shopian and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 0700 hrs and 1800 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed to proceed after the prescribed cut-off timings. As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/26-27/321-31 dated 03-07-2026. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.

*ACB J&K traps Deputy Director Agriculture Law Enforcement Naseer Ahmad Khan along-with his tout while demanding and accepting illegal gratification.*

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Srinagar, received a written complaint alleging that accused public servant namely Naseer Ahmad has demanded a bribe of Rs 2.0 lakh from seed dealer for allowing the complainant to sell plant seeds at his shop. Under compulsion the complainant had already paid the bribe amount of Rs1.0 lakh. Following negotiations, the further amount was to be paid in two instalments Rs 50000/- each.

As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, thus approached the ACB and requested legal action against the accused public servant.

Upon receipt of the complaint, the allegations were verified and the verification prima facie established the illegal gratification of Rs 2.0 lakh. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 16/2026 under Section 7, 7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 & Section 61(2)BNS, was registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar, and investigation was taken up.

Accordingly, on 30/09/2026, a trap team was constituted to lay a trap. During the trap proceedings, the accused public servant, namely Naseer Ahmad Khan Deputy Director Agriculture Law Enforcement along with his tout namely Mohd Owais Bhat R/O Qamarwari, was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting Rs. 50,000 as illegal gratification from the complainant. Both the accused public servant as well as his tout were arrested on spot.

The tainted bribe money of Rs 50000/- was recovered from their possession on spot. Both accused persons were subjected to medico-legal formalities and have been lodged in Police Station Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar, for safe custody.
Further investigation in the case is in progress.
