Dr. Vikas Padha, Senior Joint Replacement Surgeon at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, called on Lieutenant Governor i Manoj Sinha today.
Dr. Padha apprised the Lieutenant Governor about the completion of 100 joint replacement surgeries on patients from remote areas of Poonch and Rajouri under the Ayushman Bharat SEHAT Scheme.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated Dr. Padha and his team on the achievement and wished them continued success in their endeavors towards serving the society.

President Droupadi Murmu presents Shaurya Chakra to Major Anshul Baltoo, The Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, 32 Assam Rifles, for displaying bravery in the line of duty. In April 2025, during a combing and search operation in Dima Hasao, South Assam, he confronted an armed cadre at close quarters and single-handedly neutralised him. The operation resulted in the elimination of three armed cadres and the recovery of weapons and war-like stores.

A canter truck bearing registration number JK02DU-9275, which was travelling from Kashmir towards Jammu, overturned near Nachlana in Ramban resulting in the driver's death on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Mohd Zafar, son of Mohd Kassim, a resident of Pampore.

In view of the adverse weather conditions prevailing across District Kishtwar, including continuous rainfall, slippery road conditions, and the risk of shooting stones, and in the interest of ensuring the safety and well-being of pilgrims, both the **Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026** and the **Shri Mindhal Mata Yatra 2026** shall remain suspended for today, **05-06-2026**.

Pilgrims are advised not to undertake the yatra today and are requested to remain at their homes or other safe locations until further advisories are issued by the District Administration Kishtwar.

This order shall come into force with immediate effect.
