The Government has sanctioned the 1st International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK), to be held from September 7–11, 2026, at SKICC Srinagar and other locations across the UT. The festival will be organised by the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo reviewed the status of hostels built by various departments across J&K and discussed measures to make them fully functional at the earliest.

CS expressed concern over several hostel buildings that remain non-operational despite significant public investment.

Chief Secretary directed departments to provide details on hostel capacity, occupancy and enrolment to enable informed decisions on their effective utilization and management.
