Senior journalist of Jammu and Kashmir and former bureau chief of AajTak in Jammu Ashwani Kumar lost his wife, Sunita Chandra, in New Delhi on Saturday (11 Jan.). Chandra breathed her last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, on Saturday evening. She was 61. She is survived by Ashwani Kumar and their two daughters.
Chandra was unwell for last many months and was getting treated at the AIIMS. Chandra was a social worker and used to work with street children under the Pahal project of Damodar Sati Udyog Sanstha. She educated more than 2,000 children from the slum areas. These children were in Jammu from different parts of the country.
Last rites will be done in Jammu on Sunday, 12th January.

RED DROP Organizes Successful Blood Donation Camp at Kawa Institute Khanyar

Srinagar, Kashmir - [25 th Dec 2024 RED DROP, a unit of blood donors under the aegis of KASHMIR CONCERN (Regd NGO), organized a blood donation camp at Kawa Institute Khanyar in collaboration with Blood Bank SMHS Hospital.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from donors across the valley, despite the chilly Kalan weather. The event was graced by the presence of Honourable MLA Hazratbal, Jinab Salman Ali Sagar, who donated blood and inspired many youth to follow suit.

Chairman RED DROP, Dr. Touseef Ahmed, expressed his gratitude to the donors, saying, "Despite the harsh weather conditions, our donors showed remarkable enthusiasm and commitment to the noble cause. We are thankful to each and every one of them for their selfless act."

The blood donation camp is part of RED DROP's ongoing efforts to promote voluntary blood donation and address the shortage of blood in Kashmir. The organization has been working tirelessly to create awareness about the importance of blood donation and encourage people to come forward and donate.

RED DROP would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Blood Bank SMHS Hospital for their collaboration and support in making the event a success.
