Under the Supervision of SP City South. SDPO City East and SHO Police Station Bahu Fort, Jammu Police achieved a breakthrough with the arrest of a drug peddler and recovery of a heroin-like substance, and one electronic weighing scale under Operation Sanjeevani.

Acting on routine patrolling duties, a police team from Police Post Narwal, led by IC Police Post Narwal PSI Sushil kumar and assisted by other officials, intercepted a suspicious individual Near Rajiv Nagar .

The individual was identified as *Arun Singh S/O Pal Singh R/o Rajiv Nagar Narwal Distt Jammu*. Upon conducting a search, the police recovered *20 gram(approx) heroin-like substance,and one electronic weighing scale , from his possession.*

A case *FIR No. 213/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act* has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort Jammu and the accused has been taken into custody for further investigation.

In a remarkable demonstration of efficiency and dedication, the Jammu Police has successfully restored ₹62 lakhs to Mir Firasath Ali Khan, a complainant from Hyderabad, who fell victim to cheating and fraud in Jammu. The case, investigated by SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dr. Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, under the supervision of SSP Jammu and SP South highlights the commitment of the Jammu Police to justice and victim-centric approach.

The complainant, Mir Firasath Ali Khan, had approached Police Station Bahu Fort, alleging that certain individuals from Jammu were attempting to sell him fake diamonds in the guise of renowned Kashmir Blue Sapphires. An FIR was registered, and the investigation revealed a larger conspiracy involving Mohammed Rayaz s/o Reham Ali R/O Gurdan Bala Rajouri A/P Chinor Jammu and Mohammed Taj Khan S/O Haji Jumma Khan R/O Potha Surankot Poonch, A/P Meenia Mohalla Trikuta Nagar along with their associates, who had duped the complainant of ₹3 crore and were attempting to sell him fake Kashmir Blue Sapphires for ₹25 crore.

During the investigation, the IO seized numerous fake Kashmir Sapphire necklaces from the accused's possession and recovered ₹62,00,000 from Mohammed Rayaz and his associates. The Honorable Court subsequently released the seized money in favor of the complainant.

The complainant has expressed his gratitude to the Jammu Police, particularly SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh, SP South, Ajay Sharma, and SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dr. Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, for their professionalism and dedication in recovering his hard-earned money.

Furthermore, the IO has identified the property acquired by the accused using the proceeds of crime and has approached the Honorable Court to proceed with attachment under Section 107 BNSS, a new clause introduced to make the criminal laws more victim-centric. This section empowers the court to attach and forfeit the said property to restore the cheated amount to the complainant.

In a significant crackdown on bovine smuggling under *Operation Kamdhenu,* Jammu Police successfully thwarted two separate attempts at illegal Cattle transportation during routine naka checking on the National Highway (NHW) in the Nagrota area, rescuing *34 bovine animals.*

Following the successful operation, two cases:-
*FIR No.141/2025 and FIR No.145/2025were registered at Police Station Nagrota* under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (PCA Act).

The accused in these cases have been identified as:
*1. Babur Chaudhary,* S/O Mohd Hussain, R/O Maraliyan, Miran Sahib, Jammu
*2. Zakir Hussain,* S/O Ahmad Ali, R/O Khanpur, Nagrota
*3. Bashir Ahmed Kichloo,* S/O Haji Abraham, R/O Khanpur, Nagrota

A truck bearing registration number *JK21D/0182,* used in the transportation of the animals, was also seized.

During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the *accused had illegally constructed permanent (pacca) sheds* on land belonging to the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) in Khanpura, Nagrota.These unauthorized structures were being used as *hubs for the illegal storage and transit of cattle.*

Acting promptly and following due legal process, a joint team of Jammu Police and JDA officials today conducted a demolition drive at the site and razed the illegal structures.

This action highlights the Jammu & Kashmir Police’s firm resolve under Operation Kamdhenu to combat bovine smuggling, prevent the encroachment of government land, and uphold the rule of law across the Union Territory.

*25 Pilgrims Injured as Four Buses Collide in Amarnath Yatra Convoy at Chanderkote*

*DC Ramban Visits Hospital, Says All Injuries Minor; Alternate Buses Arranged for Yatris*

Ramban, July 5: At least 25 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims were injured on Saturday after four buses of the Pahalgam-bound convoy collided with each other near the Chanderkote langar site in Ramban district.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred after the driver of one of the buses reportedly lost control due to a brake failure, leading to a chain collision involving three other buses in the convoy.

25 pilgrims were injured in the accident. All the injured pilgrims were shifted to District Hospital Ramban for medical treatment. Rescue teams from the police and health department responded promptly to the scene.

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Ilyas Khan, visited the hospital and enquired about the condition of the injured pilgrims. Speaking to JKNS, DC Khan said, “Due to break fail four vehicles collided with each other, at least 20-25 yatri are injured. Most of the injuries are minor, and all the affected yatris are being discharged after receiving first aid.”

He added that alternate transport arrangements have been made for the pilgrims. “We have arranged replacement buses for the yatris. Those discharged from the hospital will also be accommodated and continue their journey,” the DC said.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking, Nowabad Police apprehended one drug peddler and recovered 05.88 grams of heroin(chitta) like substance seized from his possession.
On 02/07/25, the officials of PP Tallab Tillo, While Performing Naka Duty at near Puran Nagar, signalled one Vehicle. But the driver of the vehicle tried to fled away. Acting swiftly the Police Party stopped the vehicle bearing *No. JK20B - 7053* driven by a person namely *Hashim Ali S/o Mohd Hussain R/o Belivharana.* On searching, *5.88 grams* of heroine like substance was recovered from under the drivers seat.

In this connection, *Case FIR No 92/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act instantly got registered at PS Nowabad* and the said accused was remanded to Police Custody and further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the illegal drug trade. More arrests and recoveries cannot be ruled out.
