J&K Gymnast Ruddrakash Khanna to Represent India at 10th Asian Aerobic Gymnastics Championships
JAMMU: Ruddrakash Khanna, a rising star from the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council’s Gymnastics Academy, has officially qualified for the finals of the 10th Asian Aerobic Gymnastics Championship. The event is scheduled to be held in Tagaytay City, Philippines, from August 5–7, 2026.
Displaying exceptional form, Ruddrakash secured the 2nd rank in the Junior category during the recent National selection trials in Imphal. This marks a historic milestone as he becomes the first athlete from the region to compete in this category at the Asian level.
A recipient of the J&K Government Award (2025), Ruddrakash has previously represented the nation at the Youth Asian Championships and the Suzuki World Cup. He credits his success to the world-class infrastructure provided by the J&K Administration under the leadership of Hon'ble LG Sh. Manoj Sinha, and the constant support of Secretary Sports Council, Ms. Nuzhat Gul.
Ruddrakash also expressed his gratitude to his mentor and former international coach, S. P. Singh, and Mr. Kiran Wattal, President of the J&K Gymnastics Association, for their unwavering guidance and support in his sporting journey.

Another Good News for :

Thanks to National Highway Authority of India and Minister Sh for accepting our request and proposing the construction of a new two-lane tube tunnel parallel to the existing “Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel” on Chenani-Nashri route along National Highway 44 in . This will ease the increasing rush of traffic on this section and ensure ease of travel. It may be recalled that the “Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel” was inaugurated by PM Sh on April 2, 2017.

Special Katra-Haridwar Train to be Operated for Devotees on Somvati Amavasya

Jammu, 09 June 2026:
Considering the additional rush of pilgrims on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya, Jammu Division of Northern Railway has decided to run a special train between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Haridwar. This special train will be operated as train number 04606/04605 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Haridwar - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

Train number 04606 will depart from Katra on Sunday, 14 June 2026 at 18:15 hrs and will reach Haridwar at 06:30 hrs the next day. In the return direction, train number 04605 will depart from Haridwar on Monday, 15 June 2026 at 17:20 hrs and will reach Katra at 07:00 hrs the next day. Only one trip of this train will be operated.

This will be a fully reserved special train. A total of 16 coaches will be attached, including Sleeper, General, AC 3-Tier and AC 2-Tier coaches. The train will halt at major stations en route including Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur and Roorkee.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Shri Uchit Singhal said, "A huge increase in the number of devotees is witnessed on Somvati Amavasya for visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. This special train is being run with the objective of facilitating passengers and managing the extra rush. He requested passengers to make reservations immediately and travel only with a valid ticket. Passengers can contact 139 for information regarding ticket availability and reservation status."

Northern Railway has requested devotees to make reservations before travel and maintain cleanliness on station premises. This special train is being run with the aim of providing smooth and safe travel to passengers going for darshan on Somvati Amavasya.
