Tragic Road Accident on NHW-44: One Dead, Three Critically Injured in Awantipora Awantipora, July 15:
One person died and three others were critically injured in a tragic road accident on NHW-44 near Dangerpora Padgampora, Awantipora. A truck collided with an Alto car, leaving the vehicle badly damaged. The injured have been shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment. Police have registered a case and begun investigation.

Kulgam, July 10: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Mr. Viquar Ahmad Giri, paid an evening visit to District Hospital Kulgam to assess the quality of healthcare services and overall functioning of the facility.

During the visit, the ADC reviewed the recovery of a young male patient who recently underwent Endoscopy Sclerotherapy. He also inspected the ICU and other sections of the hospital, focusing on patient care and staff performance.

Noting the ongoing renovation work, Mr. Giri assured that the process would be expedited to minimize inconvenience to patients and staff, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in the district.

Traffic Cop Among Three Injured in Kulgam Road Accident

Kulgam, July 10: Three individuals, including a traffic police officer, were injured in a road accident on Thursday afternoon in the Takibal Kilam area of Devsar in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

According to officials, the incident occurred when a motorcyclist collided with a traffic department vehicle at Kilam. The impact resulted in injuries to the motorcyclist, the traffic cop, and another individual present at the scene.

All the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Their condition is currently being monitored.

Brazloo Bridge and NH444 Bypass Nearing Completion Ahead of Schedule: DC Kulgam

Kulgam, June 30: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam has announced that the construction of the Brazloo Bridge and the NH444 Kulgam Bypass is progressing at a remarkable pace, with 70% of the work completed in the past eight months.

The 378-metre-long Brazloo Bridge, which spans the Vaishav River, will connect two major parts of the district, significantly improving internal connectivity. Alongside, the NH444 bypass is set to ease traffic congestion in the main town and enhance regional access by linking directly with NH44 (Jammu–Srinagar Highway).

DC Kulgam expressed optimism that both projects will be completed well ahead of schedule, marking a major step toward better infrastructure and development in the region.
