Qaziabad 09 July:-Illegal mining has wreaked havoc in Qaziabad and Mawer area.
The residents of Langate and adjoining areas in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district expressed anguish over the inaction of the district administration against the elements involved in illegal sand extraction from Qaziabad area.The locals expressed strong resentment over the continuous extraction of sand from Hajin,Safalpora, Rengpath,Ashpora,Harweth,Darbal,Doorbal,batagund,Shanoo,at various locations including Kralpora,Renan.The concerned department is watching the extraction as a mute-spectator. The illegal extraction has caused huge damage to the embankments of the stateland,Gashcharie which poses a serious threat to the nearby areas during rainy season,” locals said.The locals questioned why the authorities are shying away from stopping this illegal trade in the area.
They said the illegal extraction of sand was mostly being carried out during the early hours but for the past couple of months it was going on unabated during broad daylight too.

*ACB Trapped Tehsildar Kralgund for Accepting Rs 50,000 Bribe*

Handwara: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday said to have trapped and arrested Tehsildar Kralgund Qaziabad for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for
Permission of wall Nut Trees.

“Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that Tehsildar Kralgund Qaziabad namely Gh Rasool Bhat, is demanding bribe for issuance of Permission For Cutting of Wall Nut Trees from the complainant,” a spokesman said.

The accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 (one lakh) from the complainant for the issuance of a Permission report for cutting of Wall Nut Trees . After negotiation, the accused has agreed to take bribe amount of Rs 50,000 from the complainant as advance and remaining Rs 50,000 on his visit at the site, reads the statement.

“Since, the complainant didn’t want to pay bribe and he approached Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law,” the spokesman said.

“On receipt of the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, which confirms the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned and accordingly, a case FIR number 04/2025 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered in ACB and investigation taken up,” he said

“During the course of investigation, a trap team headed by Gazetted rank officer was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and accused public servant was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 50,000 from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses.

The accused was arrested on the spot by the ACB team after following due process of law. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team. Moreover, search is being conducted in the Private residential house of the accused in presence of independent witness and Compliant” he said, adding that further investigation of the instant case is going on.

Handwara 17 Jan:-People from Ashpora,Maqam,Wajhama on Friday complained they are being overcharged by Sumo,s drivers accusing authorities of failing to act against the violators.

From Handwara to Ashpora we used to pay Rs 33 but now we are being charged 40 per passenger,” said Ghulam Nabi a dialy passenger.

He said that the government has given free hand to them to fleece passengers.

According to him, officials of the transport department are aware about the practice but are turning a blind eye to the issue.
The passengers urged the concerned authorities to keep a regular check on this transporter service charging exorbitant prices from passengers.
People say that we are requested to ARTO Kupwara to take notice of this matter and are saying check on their daily routine.
Commuters said that they do not dare to open their mouths in front of drivers because their behaviour is abusive.

No Need for Income Certificate to Avail PMAY: BDO Qaziabad

Kralgund Jan 10:- In a recent update from the Block Development Office (BDO), Supernaghama, applicants for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) no longer need to submit an income certificate.

The BDO office has clarified that applicants should provide only three documents to register for the scheme:

1. Aadhaar Card

2. Job Card

3. Bank Passbook

This move aims to streamline the process and reduce unnecessary documentation. Residents are advised to avoid applying for an income certificate specifically for PMAY registration.

TRC Gr***de explosion: Injured Bandipora Woman succumbs in Sgr hospital

Srinagar, Nov 12: The 45-year-old woman who was injured following a gr***de attack near the Tourist Reception Center (TRC) Srinagar on November 3, succumbed in Srinagar hospital, officials said Tuesday.

An official at the SMHS hospital told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the 45-year-old woman Abida who was injured in gr***de attack near the Tourist Reception Center (TRC) on November 3, succumbed here on today.

She was identified as, Abida alias Sumaiya (45) w/o Zubair Ahmed Lone r/o Naid khai sumbal, Bandipora

She was among the injured and had been receiving treatment at SMHS Hospital lost her batte to severe injuries—(KNO)
