SBSP Expands Footprint in Kashmir as NC Leaders Defect in Bandipora

Bandipora, July 18: Big boost to Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) as several leaders from the National Conference (NC) joined the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) in Bandipora today, marking a boost for the party’s expanding presence in North Kashmir.

Among those who joined the SBSP were Mohd Shafi Najar, NC Ward Secretary and Halqa President of Sumlar; Gh. Nabi Lone, NC Delegate President of Sumlar; and senior NC workers Mangatullah Khan and Doda Khan. The joining ceremony was held in the presence of Bashir Ahmad Buhroo, SBSP District President Bandipora, Wajahat Raina, North Kashmir Incharge, and Nazir Khan.

The new entrants were warmly welcomed by the SBSP leadership and cadre, who hailed the move as a positive step towards strengthening the party’s grassroots base across the Bandipora district.

Speaking on the development SBSP State President Shri Vivek Bali expressed happiness over the growing number of political leaders joining the party. “I am delighted to see leaders from various political backgrounds placing their trust in the SBSP. Today’s joining of NC leaders further strengthens our resolve to build a strong grassroots network in Bandipora and across Jammu & Kashmir,” Bali said.

Additionally, several SBSP leaders were nominated, including Nazir Khan as District President (Tribal Bandipora); Abuzar Nazir as Youth District President Bandipora; Mir Imamul Haq as Youth Vice President Bandipora; Faizan Majeed Bhat as Youth Chief General Secretary Bandipora; Mohd Tawfeeq Bhat as Organisation Secretary Bandipora; and Abid Hussain as Media Incharge Bandipora.

The induction of these NC leaders into the SBSP is seen as part of the party's strategic efforts to expand its footprint in the Kashmir Valley ahead of the anticipated assembly elections.

Eight Amarnath Pilgrims Injured in Udhampur Road Accident

Udhampur, July : At least eight Amarnath pilgrims sustained injuries after a collision between a truck and an Innova vehicle near Battal Ballian area of Udhampur district on Friday morning.

Officials told news agency that the accident occurred when a truck rammed into an Innova carrying pilgrims returning from the Pahalgam route of the Amarnath Yatra.

Of the eight persons onboard, three suffered minor injuries and were administered first aid at the site. However, five pilgrims sustained moderate to serious injuries and were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital Udhampur for specialised treatment.

Police said that a case has been registered and further investigation into the incident is underway.

The team engaged with local residents and listened attentively to their grievances, particularly concerning the poor condition of the link road in the area.

Residents expressed deep frustration over the deteriorated road infrastructure, describing it as a “burning issue” that has caused immense inconvenience for daily commuters, elderly individuals, and school-going children. The road lies in a completely haphazard state, yet no serious attention has been paid by the concerned authorities or the sitting MLA despite repeated appeals.

Shiraz Malik assured the people that their concerns will not go unheard. She emphasized that the Apni Party stands with the common people and is committed to raising such vital public issues at every possible platform until action is taken. She urged the administration to take immediate steps to repair and develop the road infrastructure in Old Beigpora

Qazigund, July 18 (KNO): A youth was killed in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, following a scuffle with a robber who had entered their residential house.

Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a robber, posing as a member of security forces, barged into the residence of Mohammad Yaseen Banday, a resident of Kishgund, Sangran, under the pretext of conducting searches.

Sensing something fishy, Zahid Ahmad Banday—son of the house owner— confronted the intruder and tried to apprehend him, ensuing a scuffle.

During the fight, Zahid was critically injured after being attacked by the robber with a sharp-edged weapon.

He was immediately rushed to Emergency Hospital Qazigund where he succumbed to his injuries.

Other family members managed to apprehend the robber and handed him over to Qazigund Police.

A toy pistol and a sharp knife were recovered from his possession.

The robber, who sustained injuries during the scuffle, was shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment.

Apni Party Holds Grand Workers’ Convention in Budgam
Senior Leaders Reaffirm Commitment to Public Welfare, Restoration of Statehood

Budgam, July 17, 2025:
The Apni Party today organized a significant One-Day Workers’ Convention at Budgam, drawing a large number of party workers and supporters. The convention aimed to boost grassroots mobilization and reaffirm the party’s vision for peace, development, and dignity in Jammu & Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir underscored the importance of engaging with the people at the ground level. He said, “The Apni Party stands firmly for the restoration of statehood, safeguarding the rights of the people, and building a peaceful and prosperous Jammu & Kashmir.”

Vice President Javid Mustafa Mir lauded the dedication of party workers and called for strengthening the organizational network across the region. “We need to continue reaching every household with a message of hope, development, and unity,” he stated.
