GANDERBAL POLICE DESTROYS WILD CANNABIS, ORGANIZES ANTI-DRUG RALLIES AND DEBATES IN PS KHEERBAWANI JURISDICTION.

In its unwavering fight against the menace of drug abuse, Ganderbal Police, in collaboration with civil society members and Students, launched a comprehensive anti-drug campaign in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kheerbawani.

As part of the campaign, a large-scale wild cannabis (Bhung) destruction drive was carried out at Sehpora and Kurag areas. The drive was conducted under the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS and led by SHO PS Kheerbawani along with dedicated police teams. Students from various schools actively participated, demonstrating strong public involvement in the cause.

In addition to the destruction drive, awareness rallies and debate competitions were organized to sensitize the youth and local residents about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from school students and members of the community, showcasing a united front against narcotic threats.

Ganderbal Police reaffirms its steadfast commitment to creating a drug-free society and calls upon the general public to extend their cooperation in this mission.

Citizens are urged to report any information regarding illegal cultivation of cannabis or poppy. Strict legal action will be taken against those found involved.

Ganderbal Press Association (GPA) Offers Condolences

Ganderbal: The Ganderbal Press Association (GPA) deeply mourns the sad demise of Habla Begum, wife of Abdul Rashid Parray and mother-in-law of senior journalist Tawseef Wani, a respected member of the association.

Habla Begum, a resident of Syed Fazil Abad Pandach, passed away after a brief illness. Her passing has left a deep void in the lives of her family and loved ones.

DC Ganderbal Reviews Arrangements for Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Qamar-Ud-Din Bukhari (RA)

GANDERBAL, JULY 24: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore today convened a meeting of district officers to review and finalize the necessary arrangements for the upcoming Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Qamar-Ud-Din Bukhari (RA), to be held at Reshipora Saloora, Ganderbal.

Representatives of Qamaria Auqaf Trust informed during the meeting that the week-long Urs Mubarak will commence from the 6th of Safar as per the Islamic calendar. The main congregation is expected to witness a significant gathering of devotees at the revered shrine of Hazrat Qamar-Ud-Din Bukhari (RA) in Reshipora Saloora.

A detailed discussion was held regarding the various arrangements required for the smooth and successful conduct of the religious event.

The meeting finalized comprehensive plans related to uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water, Medicare facilities, fire safety, transport and parking, sanitation, security, and traffic regulation.

The DC directed all concerned departments to ensure that all arrangements are put in place well before the commencement of the Urs to provide a smooth, safe, and comfortable experience for the devotees.

The Fire & Emergency Services Department was instructed to deploy fire tender at the venue, while the Health Department was asked to station an ambulance with adequate emergency medicines and medical staff.

The Municipal Council Ganderbal was directed to maintain cleanliness at and around the shrine premises, including the approach roads.

To ensure safety and order during the large gatherings, the Police and Traffic Departments were tasked with maintaining security and managing traffic regulations effectively. The ARTO was asked to ensure proper transport and parking arrangements for the convenience of the devotees.

The Executive Engineer KPDCL was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the Urs days and to keep a generator set ready as backup.

DC assured the Representatives of Qamaria Auqaf Trust that the district administration is committed to ensuring that all necessary facilities are in place to facilitate a peaceful and spiritually enriching experience for the devotees participating in the Urs Mubarak.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Syed Fahim Behaqi; ACD, ACP, Executive Engineer KPDCL, ARTO, Tehsildar Ganderbal, CMO and other concerned officers.

DC Ganderbal Chairs DLSCC Meeting to Review SRO-43 and Relief Cases for Terror Victims

GANDERBAL, JULY 24: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Screening Cum Coordination Committee (DLSCC) to review and process cases related to SRO-43 and relief for victims of terror-related incidents in the district.

The meeting, held in the V.C Room of the DC Office, reviewed several cases and inputs were obtained from the Police Department, Field Functionaries, CRPF, BSF, and Army.

The DC reviewed claims submitted by the next of kin (NoKs) of civilians killed in terror-related incidents under SRO-43 provisions. He emphasized the need for careful scrutiny and coordination among all stakeholders to ensure timely justice and relief to the affected families.

Underscoring the importance of a transparent and expeditious process, the DC directed the Committee to consider all reports and recommendations from concerned departments while maintaining a humanitarian approach in the decision-making process.

After comprehensive deliberation, the Committee decided to forward several cases to higher authorities for consideration of certain relaxations as per the norms.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Fahim Bihaqi, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, senior officers from the CRPF, BSF, Army, and concerned Tehsildars.
