*Exposure Visit to Katra Vaishno Devi by Vande Bharat Train Flagged Off by Director Education Kashmir Mr. Ghulam Nabi Itoo*
2nd August 2025, Srinagar:
Under the theme “Practical Implementation of NEP 2020 – Bridging Classroom Learning with Real-World Exposure”, the students of Higher Secondary School Litter embarked on an inspiring Exposure Visit to Katra Vaishno Devi via the prestigious Vande Bharat Express—a landmark initiative promoting vocational and experiential learning aligned with the New Education Policy (NEP 2020).
The visit was formally flagged off by the Worthy Director of School Education Kashmir, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Itoo, who was received at Srinagar Railway Station by Tour Coordinator Mr. Mohammad Ayoub Dar, Mr. Davood Ahmad Mir, and Mr. Mohammad Amin Najar. The Director was accompanied by the Joint Director of Education, Mr. Kishoor Kumar, Chief Education Officer Pulwama, Mr. Shabir Ahmad, and representatives from the Directorate of Education. The staff of Higher Secondary School Litter were also present to support and accompany the students.
In his media interaction, Mr. Itoo praised Higher Secondary School Litter as a pioneering institution, being the first in the region to organize such a vocational exposure tour. He expressed his appreciation for the outstanding efforts of the Vocational Wing of the school, especially acknowledging the dedication of Principal Mr. Sajad Wali Dar, Vocational Trainer Mr. Bilal Ahmad Baig, and Vocational Trainer Dr. Gh. Hassan Ganaie, for their instrumental roles in conceptualizing and executing this educational endeavor.
Mr. Itoo also highlighted that many of the students participating in the visit come from rural areas, and for most of them, this marks their first-ever journey on the Vande Bharat Express. “This initiative is a milestone,” he remarked, “as vocational education is the backbone of the New Education Policy, and it is our vocational trainers who are transforming the entire educational landscape of Jammu and Kashmir by turning theory into practice.”
The visit aims to offer students hands-on exposure to tourism infrastructure, hospitality operations, and transport systems, bringing their vocational curriculum to life and enhancing their employability and confidence.
This program stands as a shining example of integrated, real-world learning, and underscores the School Education Department’s commitment to practical, skill-based education that prepares students for the demands of the modern world.
