Jammu & Kashmir Rugby Association Announces Selection Trials for U18 Boys and Girls Rugby 7s Championship 2025

Srinagar, July 1, 2025 — The Jammu & Kashmir Rugby Association, is pleased to announce selection trials for the upcoming U18 Boys and Girls Rugby 7s National Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Under-18 Girls:

8th – 9th July 2025 (Tuesday & Wednesday)

Under-18 Boys:

11th – 12th July 2025 (Friday & Saturday)

The selection trials will officially commence on Friday, 04 July 2025, 9am sharp at synthetic rugby field polo ground lal chowk Srinagar with preliminary assessments and registration.

Interested players from across Jammu & Kashmir are invited to participate. This is a key opportunity to represent the Union Territory at the national level and showcase their rugby talent.

Eligibility and Requirements:
All players must:

Be under 18 years of age as per IRFU guidelines.

Carry the following documents:
Aadhaar Card (Original + Photocopy)

Recent Passport Size Photograph

IRFU ID Card (or complete IRFU registration prior to the trials)

Previous district/state rugby cirtificate

The Jammu & Kashmir Rugby Association is committed to promoting rugby across all districts, encouraging youth participation, and preparing future champions through such structured opportunities.

Sad Demise

With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of Haji Abdul Hamid Sofi, Son of Haji Abdul Rehman Sofi, Resident of House No. 1, Lane No. 5H, Stadium Colony, Arafat Lane, Budshah Nagar, near Scholar School, who passed away today in morning.

May Almighty grant the departed soul Jannat-ul-Firdous.

Today on 24/05/2025 under the direction Of central as well as state government Focused on plantation drive to mitigate the sufferings of peoples against heat wave in every schools, colleges ,universities, and advisory has been given for plantation drive. In this regard Government Girls Middle School Seri khawaja zone surankote district poonch.All the staff members including the students a planataion drive have been launched so that the mission Of Swatch Bharat Abhiyan in which the main agenda is plantation drive.Mr Pervaiz Ahmed NIS Rek Physical teacher brought some plants as well as flowers and planted in the school premises.Different groups of the students framed to look after the plants and water them daily .In the last Mr Nawaz Ahmed Teacher and Mtr, Navida Anjum Teacher gave a vote of thanks and spoke about the importance of the burning issues of the plants .Mr Pankaj Sharma Teacher I/C was also a part of this drive.

*Ehsaas Foundation Pays Sincere Tribute to Maulana Mubarak Mubarki*

Srinagar, May 02: Ehsaas Foundation (NGO) is immensely saddened to know about the demise of distinguished Islamic scholar and Khateeb of Bazaar Masjid Srinagar Maulana Mubarak Mubarki Sahib.

The Foundation's Vice Chairman Burhan Nazir in their obituary, stated that "Maulana Mubarki Sahib was not merely a scholar but a moral mentor to our society. His teachings led millions to fulfill, to be human, and to serve. His humility and devotion to Islamic ideals left an indelible mark on all those blessed to know him."

The Foundation acknowledged Maulana Mubarki's entire life of service to guidance of the people, Islamic scholarship, and social benefit. His passing is termed as an intellectual and spiritual loss to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ehsaas Foundation was among the many who trailed society in sending condolences and prayers, realizing that his legacy would endure to motivate coming generations. The organization sent particular condolences to his followers, students, and family.

We hope Allah (SWT) has placed him at the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give his family strength and patience at this moment of hardship," the statement concluded.

Muhammad Faheem Reshi today expressed his gratitude to the LG administration and SMC Commissioner for approving the estimates of long-pending projects that had been stalled for the past 35 years.

Reshi stated that officials from the AEEE, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), and other departments visited the Eidgah constituency today and assured that work on various projects would commence soon.

He further mentioned that in his recent meeting with the Lieutenant Governor, several important projects were sanctioned, and the estimates for those projects were officially approved today.

These long-overdue projects—which received a green light after 35 years—include macadamization of lanes and bylanes, construction of deep drains, renovation of marriage halls, and more.

Reshi extended his heartfelt thanks to the Lieutenant Governor and the Municipal Commissioner for their timely intervention and support.
