Kishanpur-Manwal: A grand rally and farewell ceremony were organized to honor Dr. Manzoor Hussain on the occasion of his retirement as Block Medical Officer (BMO).

Dr. Hussain was accorded a warm farewell by his staff in recognition of his years of dedicated service to public healthcare. The event reflected the deep respect and admiration he earned throughout his distinguished career.

People from Dansal Block, Nagrota Block, and several villages of the Doodhdas area gathered to express their gratitude for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the community. *RURAL POLICE JAMMU APPREHENDS BOOTLEGGER AT GHAROTA; ILLEGAL LIQUOR RECOVERED*

*Jammu,May 30, 2026*

Continuing *its drive against illegal liquor trade under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan,* Rural Police Jammu achieved another success by *apprehending a person involved in bootlegging activities* in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gharota.

A police party of *Police Station Gharota,* while on routine patrolling duty at Gharota, apprehended one person identified as:
*Rampal Sharma S/O Isher Dass R/O Karwanda, Bhalwal.*

During his search, *52 bottles of JK Special Whisky (180 ml each) were recovered from his possession.*

In this regard, *FIR No. 56/2026 under Section 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Gharota* and further investigation is underway.

Rural Police Jammu remains committed towards curbing illegal liquor trade and taking strict action against those involved in unlawful activities to maintain peace and public order in the District.

🌳 J&K Forest Department Foils Major Khair Wood Smuggling Bid in Nagrota

Acting on specific intelligence, the Jammu Range Forest Department team successfully thwarted an illegal Khair wood smuggling attempt in the Mathwar area of Nagrota. On noticing a forest checkpoint, smugglers abandoned approximately 25–30 quintals of valuable Khair timber and fled the spot. The seized timber has been taken into custody at the Aghore Forest Check Post. Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the offenders and dismantle the smuggling network behind the operation.

District Police Poonch Cracks Down on Drug Menace; Psychotropic Capsules/Tablets Seized

Poonch, May 30, 2026

In continuation of its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, District Police Poonch achieved a significant success during naka checking at Sailan.

Today, a police party of Police Post Behramgalla established a naka at Sailan and intercepted a Bolero vehicle bearing Registration No. JK11J-0942 for checking. During the checking, 07 strips of Pregabalin capsules and 04 strips of Tramadol SR-100 tablets were recovered from the possession of the driver, namely Safdar Hussain S/o Mohd. Sharif R/o Sailan.

In total, 109 capsules/tablets of psychotropic substances were recovered and seized. In this regard, an FIR under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Surankote and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered contraband.

District Police Poonch remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and reiterates its resolve to make the district drug-free. The general public is urged to cooperate with the police and share information regarding any drug-related activities in their area.

*RURAL POLICE JAMMU ORGANISES PCPG MEETING UNDER 100 DAYS Nasha Mukt J&K ABHIYAAN AT CHINORE*

As part of the *ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan,* Police Post Chinore today *organized a PCPG meeting* at The Vintage Court, *Durga Nagar, Chinore*, aimed at strengthening police-public coordination and spreading awareness regarding drug *eradication, traffic management, public safety, and effective use of ERSS-112.*

The meeting was *chaired by SDPO Domana, along with SHO PS Domana and ICPP Chinore. *Around 40-50 prominent citizens, youth representatives, and members of civil society participated in the programme.*

During the interaction, *participants raised various public issues and concerns, which were patiently heard by the officers.* The police officers assured timely redressal of genuine grievances and emphasized the importance of community policing, public participation, and strengthening the village watchman system. Citizens were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities.

Special emphasis was laid on the *eradication of drug abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan.* The youth and general public were appealed to actively support police efforts by sharing information about drug peddlers and helping in building a drug-free society.

The *officers also directed further intensification of night patrolling, naka checking, beat policing, and prompt disposal of public grievances.*

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from both police and public to maintain peace, harmony, and a crime-free environment.
