*Education is Not Only a Medium for Social Progress, but Also Opens the Doors to Modernization: Kalsotra*
*Tikri, Udhampur, 26.04.2026:* The All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC & Minority Organizations organized an educational camp for underprivileged students today in Village Baswani Panchyat Mand, Tikri, Udhampur.
Representing the Confederation, R.K. Kalsotra, State President, and Ramesh Chandra, Finance Secretary, along with retd CEO Dina Nath, Retd ZEO Sukham Chand, Retd Head Master Chandu Ram, Arun Baba, Balvinder Bhagat in the event.
During the camp, educational materials were distributed and students were guided on simple methods to acquire quality education. The program was based on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s clarion call: _“Educate Yourself.”_
The camp centered on Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy that education is a powerful medium for achieving liberation and social equality. Dr. Ambedkar emphasized that education is a vital force for both individual development and social transformation. He believed it serves as a tool to transform the lives of those historically deemed "untouchables."
*R.K. Kalsotra said*, “Education is akin to a mother; it reveals the solution to every problem. Education is a gateway — the moment it is opened, all avenues of progress and advancement open up automatically. Babasaheb Ambedkar himself was once denied the right to sit inside a classroom. Today, the very Constitution authored by that same Babasaheb governs the entire nation. Therefore, every single child in India must receive an education — a goal towards which the Confederation pledges to continue assisting underprivileged children.”
According to Babasaheb, the objective of education must also include character building. For the development of society, it is essential that its members possess strong character, as only individuals of high character will utilize their knowledge for the welfare of society. Cultivating a scientific temper should also be a core objective of education. He firmly believed society requires an educational system that is dynamic and responsive to the changing needs of the times.
Kalsotra further announced that the Confederation aims to organize *50 educational awareness camps by the end of 2026*. Today’s event in Tikri marks the second such camp. “We will make every possible effort to provide educational materials to underprivileged children,” he added.
The camps also provided instruction on the Constitution, fundamental rights, and duties — all aligned with Ambedkar’s philosophy of education.
Others along with childerns those who attended were Sanjay Bhagat, Om Parkash, Gandesh Dutt, Urmila Devi, Jyotika, Baldev Singh, Raj Kumar, Parmodth and many others.
