Youth injured after VDV member’s rifle goes off in Rajouri

Rajouri, Jun 04 : A 20-year-old youth was injured after the rifle of a Village Defence Committee member went off inLower Dhangri village in Rajouri district on Sunday.

An official told that the youth identified as Sunil Kumar son of Kala Ram resident of Dhangri was injured after VDC member’s rifle went off.

He said that the injured was taken to GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri where he is undergoing treatment.

He said that police have taken cognizance of the matter the rifle has also been seized.

Jammu University Korfball (Mixed) team clinched Bronze Medal
The University of Jammu Korfball (Mixed) Team once again showed its high performance and grabbed the 3rd position in the All India Inter-University Korfball (Mixed) Tournament 2021-22 organized by the Savtribai Phule Pune University, Pune w.e.f 20th March to 24th March 2022.
Jammu University Korfball (Mixed) Team includes:

Hritik Khullar, Neeraj Manhas, Hritik Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Jagmohan Singh Jamwal, A***n Dev Singh, Ayoush, Pranshu Thakur, Kiran Kour, Manisha Manhas, Roshni Mahajan, Ujala Mahajan, Shivani Sharma, Komal, Sudhashi Khajuria and Lakshika Jamwal. Notorious Bootlegger apprehended at Padder . 89 bottles of Liquor Seized by Kishtwar Police

In continuation to its drive against the vagabonds, Kishtwar Police of PS Atholi has detained a bootlegger during the raid at Gulabgrah area of Padder.

A specific information was developed regarding illegal sale of illicit liquor at Gulabgrah area of Padder. Police party led by Insp. Vikas Jasrotia, SHO PS Atholi raided the suspected location at Gulabgrah under the supervision o SDPO Atholi Sh Vikram Singh.

During the raid police party recovered 89 bottles of country made liquor from the suspected location and seized the 89 bottles of liquor from the spot.

While questioning the accused disclosed his identity as Manohar Lal S/o Suram Singh R/o Palali Padder.

In this regard case FIR No 04/2022 under section 48 (a) Excise Act registered in PS Atholi and investigation taken up.

Bovine Smuggling Bid Foiled in Atholi, Padder by Kishtwar Police

Kishtwar, 25 Jan:

Continuing its drive against anti social elements, Kishtwar Police of PS Atholi foiled bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 06 bovines from Gulabgarh area of kishtwar.

On a specific information a special team led by Insp Vikas Jasrotia SHO PS Atholi under the Supervision of SDPO Atholi Sh Vikram Singh laid a naka at Gulabgarh area of Padder, while checking 06 bovine animals were rescued and arrested 03 bovine smugglers from the spot.

In this regard case FIR No. 03/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Atholi and investigation taken up.

Murder case solved within two hours by Police station Miran Sahib Jammu, One accused arrested

Withe the arrest of an alleged accused, Miran Sahib police today claimed to have solved a murder case.

Police spokesperson said that today an information was received at PS Miran Sahib regarding assault case in a barber shop wherein a person namely Surinder Kumar
S/O Jagdish Lal R/O Kharian Miran Sahib attacked a person namely Mukesh @ Happy S/O Om Parkash R/O Kharian with scissors that caused injuries to the attacked person. Injured person was shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for immediate medical treatment whereby he succumbed to injuries.

In this regard, a case under FIR No.107/2021 U/S 302/IPC got registered at PS Miran Sahib and investigation started.

On this special police teams of PS Miran Sahib under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, DySP Shabir Khan were constituted. The team led by SHO PS Miran Sahib, Inspector Mirza Sultan reached at barber shop near TCP Kharian and following the leads finally with the timely human intervention arrested the accused person within two hours of the incident.

Further investigation of the case is going on.

Sensational Akalpur Murder case solved, 7 accused person arrested by Jammu Police

Jammu: Domana police today, have arrested seven accused persons in sensational Akalpur murder case who were evading arrest after committing the crime.

The accused are as under :-

1)Vishavjeet Singh @ Vishu S/O Sai Dass R/O Ghomanhasan, Marh Jammu
2)Aman Singh S/O Gulchain Singh R/O Akalpur, Marh Jammu.
3)Raghubir Singh @ Chhotu S/O Ramesh Singh R/O Akalpur, Marh Jammu.
4)Karanveer Singh S/O Suresh Singh R/O Gumpul, Jammu.
5)Vishav Sharma S/O Jaipal Sharma R/O Gangu Chak Marh, Jammu.
6) Jagjeet Singh @ Jaggi S/O Bhupinder Singh R/O Gole Gujral Jammu.
7) Ravi Choudary S/O Chander Bhan R/O Gajansoo, Marh Jammu.

In this attack, one of the victims namely Deepak singh R/O Gho Manasa died on the spot and other was shifted to hospital, and after committing the offence all the above mentioned accused fled from spot.

On this, an instant case FIR no. 229/2021 U/s 302/307/382/147/148/149 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act got registered in Police station Domana and investigation started.

All the accused involved directly in this gruesome murder case got arrested after dedicated Investigation Team headed by SDPO Domana Kosheen koul and SHO Domana Inspr. Mahesh sharma assisted by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak SI Dilawar kumar under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu Sanjay sharma and Under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli started investigation during which vital leads were received.

Taking investigation forward on these vital leads, Police arrested the above mentioned accused along with the weapons used for committing the crime,also many important evidences were taken from the scene of crime and thorough investigation of the scence of crime both with the help of crime photographer and FSL team was taken for collection of crucial evidences,working on the leads both Human intelligence and Technical teams was taken by Jammu Police. Also civil society played crucial role in this.
