Jammu Police today organised Thana Diwas at Police Station R.S. Pura, providing a platform for police-public interaction and discussion on issues affecting the local community.
SP Headquarters Jammu addressed the concerns of local persons along with SDPO RS Pura, SHO RS Pura.
During the programme, members of the public raised concerns regarding the sale and use of banned Chinese Gattu thread, particularly its potential threat to public safety. The police assured the participants that strict action would be taken against those found involved in its sale, storage or use.
The issue of visa fraud and cheating in the name of overseas employment or travel was also discussed. Police advised the public to remain vigilant, verify travel agents and documentation, and avoid making payments to unauthorised persons or agencies.
Participants further highlighted the need for increased police presence and patrolling near schools, especially during opening and closing hours, to ensure the safety and security of students.
Issues related to road safety, traffic management and security of women and girls were also deliberated upon. Police assured that necessary measures would be taken to strengthen patrolling, improve road safety and enhance security around vulnerable locations.
Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining regular police-public interaction, promptly addressing genuine public concerns and working collectively with the community to ensure a safe and secure environment.
