*J&K Police Kathua Booked 01 Notorious Drug Peddler Under PIT NDPS Act at Billawar*

Kathua; 30 May:- In a major success against drug peddlers, *UNDER NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN* J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS* has booked one notorious drug peddler under the PITNDPS Act following multiple involvements in NDPS-related offences.

On the directions of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, a detention warrant vide Order No. PITNDPS 24 of 2026 dated 26-05-2026 was issued against the accused *Pardeep Singh Sumberia S/o Bishan Singh R/o Ramkot Tehsil Ramkot District Kathua* a habitual drug peddler.

Today Police party of Police Station Billawar led by *SHO Billawar* under the supervision of *SP Ops Upper Kathua and SDPO Billawar* arrested the accused and executed the said warrant Under Section 3 of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988, after the approval of the competent authority.

The said accused has been found involved in the following NDPS cases:

1. FIR No. 554/2025 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act of P/S Rajouri.

2. FIR No. 14/2026 U/S 8/21/22/NDPS Act of P/S Billawar.

The accused is a repeated offender and had created a sense of fear among the public by his illegal activities. His detention under PITNDPS will send a strong message to other drug peddlers and anti-social elements.

After completion of necessary legal formalities, the accused has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.

Locals of Kathua District have appreciated the Anti Drug Initiative of Kathua Police.

*बिलावर विधानसभा में आज विकास कार्यों का भव्य उद्घाटन, MLA सतीश शर्मा ने किया लोकार्पण*

बिलावर – “विकास की राह पर बिलावर विधानसभा” के संकल्प के साथ आज 30 मई 2026 को बिलावर विधानसभा क्षेत्र में ₹4.20 करोड़ की लागत से बनी 9 विकास परियोजनाओं का भव्य उद्घाटन MLA पं. सतीश शर्मा ने किया।

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत सुबह 9:30 बजे रामकोट में ₹3 करोड़ की लागत से बनी रामकोट से बूल सर्कुलर रोड के नीम्ब पत्थर से हुई। इसके बाद दिनभर नगरोटा गुजरू बीडीओ ब्लॉक (₹40 लाख), पीएम श्री एचएस धर्मकोट (₹5 लाख), कबीर मंदिर धर्मकोट (₹15 लाख), डडवारा क्लब घर (₹5 लाख), फितर ग्राउंड (₹20 लाख), सुखातालाब देवल (₹10 लाख), राजपूत सभा देवल (₹5 लाख) और सुकराला माता मंदिर (₹20 लाख) में हुए कार्यों का लोकार्पण किया गया।

MLA सतीश शर्मा ने कहा – “बिलावर को मॉडल विधानसभा बनाना हमारा लक्ष्य है। आज जिन ₹4.20 करोड़ की परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन हुआ है, वे सीधे जनता की सुविधा से जुड़ी हैं। सड़क, शिक्षा, धार्मिक स्थल, खेल मैदान और सामुदायिक भवनों पर हमारा फोकस है।”

उद्घाटन समारोह में बड़ी संख्या में स्थानीय लोग, पंच-सरपंच, विभागीय अधिकारी और कार्यकर्ता मौजूद रहे। जनता ने विकास कार्यों के लिए MLA सतीश शर्मा का आभार जताया।

*J&K POLICE KATHUA ATTACHES IMMOVABLE PROPERTY WORTH ₹ 40 LAKH (Market Value) OF PIT NDPS DETENUE AT BILLAWAR*

Kathua, 26 May:
J&K Police Kathua today attached immovable property comprising single-storey residential house with a total estimated value of approximately ₹ 40 Lakhs, belonging to a PIT NDPS Detenue namely *Darshan Singh S/o Baldev Singh R/o Galak Tehsil Ramkot District Kathua*, under the provisions of Prevention of illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPS Act).

The property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of investigation. The entire proceeding was conducted under the directions of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS alongwith SP Ops. Upper Kathua, SDPO Billawar and SHO Billawar.*

During the investigation, it was found that the drug peddler possessed immovable property single storey Residential House valued at approximately ₹ 40 Lacs, situated at Galak Ramkot, Kathua, which was prima facie acquired through proceeds generated from illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Today, in the presence of the Revenue Department, a team led by SDPO Billawar and SHO Billawar assisted by IC PP Ramkot formally attached the said property under the provisions of Sections 68 A.2 (c) & E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985.

During the investigation, it surfaced that the property had been acquired as a result of proceeds from narcotics-related activities. Since the property was prima facie found to have been acquired through illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, it was attached in accordance with the law

The said individual has been involved in 02 NDPS cases registered within Kathua District, as detailed below:
1. FIR No. 04/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/NDPS Act
2. FIR No. 106/2025 under Sections 8/15/21/22/ NDPS Act.

Local residents have hailed the initiative of Kathua Police regarding the attachment of immovable property raised or used through illicit trafficking of narcotics by drug peddlers in Kathua district.

Kathua Police remains committed to its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and reiterates its resolve to make the district drug-free by targeting both narcotics networks and illegally acquired assets of drug offenders.
