Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar visited the Office of the Dean, Research Studies, Cluster University of Jammu, to oversee the conduct of the maiden Ph.D. Entrance Examination – 2025

Cluster University of Jammu has achieved a significant milestone by conducting its maiden Ph.D. Entrance Examination – 2025, organized under the aegis of the Office of Dean, Research Studies, in collaboration with the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Cluster University of Jammu under the pro-active guidance of Senior Professor, Vice - Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, K S Chandrasekar.

On this occasion, Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, visited the Office of Dean Research Studies to review the academic and administrative arrangements for the successful conduct of the examination.

The Centre of Examination was established at the School of Engineering and Technology, Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, where candidates aspiring for doctoral research across diverse disciplines of the University appeared for the test.

During his visit, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor interacted with the faculty members and examination staff, appreciating their collective efforts in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and smooth conduct of the examination. He highlighted that the commencement of the Ph.D. Entrance Examination marks a new chapter in the research journey of Cluster University of Jammu, strengthening its commitment to advancing higher education and creating a robust ecosystem of innovation and inquiry.

Prof. Dr. Satinder Kaur, Dean Research Studies,gave the briefing about the number of applicants in both the Exempted and non - Exempted categories and plan of Examination along with Assistant Deans Prof. Paramjeet Singh, Dr. Avtar Changotra and Co- Coordinator of I.T Cell Prof Amjed Khan Bhatti .She briefed the Vice-Chancellor about the arrangements and extended their gratitude for his encouragement and vision. The Controller of Examinations, in coordination with the supporting staff, also played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth ex*****on of this historic examination.

This initiative reflects the University’s growing emphasis on quality research, academic rigor transparency , and institutional excellence, aligning with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

One-Day National Workshop on “Character Building and Personality Development through Indian Knowledge System” held at Cluster University of Jammu
Jammu, 16th September 2025:
A one-day national workshop on “Character Building and Personality Development through Indian Knowledge System” was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Cluster University of Jammu, in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Prant under the patronage of Ms Ankur Mahajan (JKAS), Patron and Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu. The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Atul Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, New Delhi.
The workshop began with the traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, invoking a spiritual ambiance for the day’s academic proceedings. Dr. Sugandha Mahajan, the workshop moderator, formally welcomed the dignitaries and participants, outlining the key objectives of the event.
Dr. Meenakshi Bandral, Director IQAC, introduced the vision and initiatives of IQAC, emphasizing the need to integrate Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into modern education for the holistic development of learners.
The inaugural address was delivered virtually by Sr. Prof. K.S. Chandersekar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu. He credited the leadership of the Registrar, Controller of Examinations, and Director IQAC for envisioning the workshop and reiterated the university’s commitment to nurturing character and values through indigenous wisdom.
In his Keynote Address, Dr. Atul Kothari highlighted the relevance of the Indian knowledge tradition in shaping character and personality, particularly among youth. He elaborated on concepts such as Panchkosh and a balanced daily routine, offering practical insights for modern life.
Prof. Ranvijay Singh, Controller of Examinations, delivered the Vote of Thanks for the inaugural session.
The second session, titled “Discussion on Panchkosh”, was moderated by Dr. Neetu Kumari, Coordinator, Commerce, Cluster University of Jammu. Jasbir Singh, Rector, Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu, served as the Subject Expert and offered deep insights into the five sheaths of human existence and their role in holistic personality development. The session was chaired by Prof. Rajinder Sharma from GDC R.S. Pura. Dr. Anshu Kumari from the Department of Commerce concluded the session with a Vote of Thanks.
The workshop saw active participation from Deans of Schools, Principals of constituent colleges, faculty members, researchers, and students. Academics from neighbouring institutions also joined, making the event a vibrant forum for reconnecting with India’s rich intellectual legacy and exploring its relevance in contemporary education and character formation.
