*Two Medical Shops Sealed for Violation of Drugs & Cosmetics Act at Chenani by Udhampur Police*

Continuing its sustained action against the illegal sale of controlled substances, Police team of PS Chenani led by its SHO recovered Pregabalin capsules on 09.12.2025 from the possession of Raj Kumar S/O Premu R/O Dogra Kud. During the follow-up (backward link) investigation, the involvement of two medical shops surfaced.

During inspection today, *Life Care Medical Hall, Chenani run by Sudesh Kumar S/O Rattan Lal R/O Sira Morh Latti* and

*Mahadev Medical Hall, Chenani run by Pawan Kumar S/O Rattan Lal R/O Sira Morh Latti,* were sealed by the Drug Control Officer Udhampur for violation of the provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, including the illegal sale of Pregabalin capsules to youth of the area.

*With this action, the total number of medical shops sealed this year has gone up to 14.*

District Police Udhampur has issued a stern warning to all medical establishments to strictly adhere to the regulations concerning the sale of controlled drugs. Strict legal action will be taken against those found violating these norms.

*Inter-State Drug Peddler arrested with Poppy Straw at Chenani by Udhampur Police*

Udhampur, Nov 28:

Police team of PS Chenani led by its SHO while performing routine traffic checking at Nakka Motor Shed, NHW Chenani. A black Swift Dzire (PB 32 K 0399) coming from Srinagar towards Udhampur was stopped for checking. The driver identified himself as *Bikram Singh S/o Jaipal, R/o Phirni Majra, Tehsil Balachaur, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab.*

During the search of the vehicle, two plastic bags containing a total of 27.05 kg of poppy straw were recovered from the vehicle.

The driver failed to provide any satisfactory explanation for the possession of the contraband.

Awantipora 10 July 2025:

Awantipora Police continues its special drive for destruction of wild cannabis in the jurisdiction of Police District Awantipora

Police Party of Police Post Reshipora headed by IC Police Post Reshipora Insp. Bilal Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora alongwith officers of Excise, Revenue and Agriculture Departments launched a special drive against wild cannabis and destroyed Approx. 10 Kanals along the banks of River Jhelum in Reshipora.

Members of Civil society has also participated in the said drive , appreciated the action and have urged the authorities to continue this drive in nearby areas also.
