NC government completely failed to fulfill election promises:

Providing free electricity is also like throwing dust in the eyes of the people: Mohammad Arif

Jammu, July 10: Senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Mohd Arif has accused the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of completely failing to fulfill the election promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the promise of giving free electricity to the people has also proved to be like throwing dust in the eyes of the common people. He said that during the elections, the National Conference had shown the people of the state dreams of free electricity and employment to unemployed youth if it came to power. But after coming to power, all the election promises of the National Conference have proved to be hollow, due to which the common people have become disillusioned with the government.

He said that unemployed youth are becoming desperate in search of employment, while the election promise of the National Conference to create lakhs of employment opportunities after coming to power has also proved to be a hoax. He further said that development work has come to a standstill and there is no solution to the problems of the common people. Mohd Arif said that just as the common people were not being heard under the rule of the Lieutenant Governor before the elections, the same situation remains even after the elections.

Arif said that the common man is upset due to this and there is no solution to their problems, while the elected representatives have also completely failed to live up to the expectations of the people. Because the government has not only tried to mislead the people by announcing free electricity to a small section of the society, but has also reneged on this election promise.

He said that this has disappointed the people of the entire state to a great extent. He warned the Omar government to fulfill its election promises otherwise Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party will launch a strong movement against it.
