CIK raids multiple Kashmir prisons, including Central Jail Srinagar and Kupwara Jail

Srinagar, Nov,08:

The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday carried out surprise searches at multiple jails across the Valley, including Central Jail Srinagar and District Jail Kupwara.

Officials told that the search operation was launched as part of an ongoing drive to monitor activities inside jails and ensure that no prohibited material is being used or exchanged by inmates.

โ€œTeams of Counter Intelligence Kashmir carried out searches at Central Jail Srinagar and District Jail Kupwara today. The exercise is aimed at strengthening internal security and checking any suspicious activity,โ€ officials said.

The searches were conducted in coordination with prison authorities. Sources said that documentation, barracks, and inmate belongings were examined during the search...

Loco pilot injured after train suffers bird hit in Anantnag.

Anantnag, Nov 08: A loco pilot was injured after a train suffered a bird hit on Baramulla-Banihal route today morning, officials said.

An official told that the incident occurred between Bijbehara and Anantnag section when train was en route to Banihal.

He said that an eagle hit the train windshield, causing damage to it and eventually injuring the loco pilot.

Kulgam Police Launches Massive Crackdown on J&K Nationals Operating from Pakistan/Pak-Occupied-Kashmir (JKNOP)

Relatives, overground workers booked; multiple CASOs conducted across district

Kulgam, November 8:In a major operation aimed at dismantling the ecosystem of terror and subversive activities in the district, Kulgam Police today launched a massive crackdown on J&K Nationals Operating from Pakistan/Pak-Occupied-Kashmir (JKNOP).

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, multiple Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) were carried out in several parts of the district, targeting individuals involved in facilitating, funding, and promoting terror activities at the behest of their relatives currently based across the border.

During the operation, a number of relatives and associates of active JKNOP members were booked under relevant provisions of law for their continued involvement in anti-national activities, including logistical support, propaganda circulation, and aiding recruitment. Digital devices and incriminating materials were also seized during the raids.

Kulgam Police has reiterated its commitment to uphold peace and security in the district, stating that operations against the terror support network will continue to ensure its complete dismantling.

Doru Police Conducts Verification Drive of SIM Card Vendors to Curb Misuse

Doru, Nov,0 7:

Police Station Doru on Friday carried out a comprehensive verification drive of SIM card vendors across its jurisdiction as part of ongoing efforts to prevent misuse of SIM cards and tighten monitoring of telecom service practices.

According to officials, the drive focused on checking documentation processes, KYC compliance and proper maintenance of customer records to ensure that SIM cards are not issued without mandatory verification.

SDPO Doru, Yawer Khan, along with SHO Doru, supervised the inspection teams during the exercise. Officers briefed vendors about their legal responsibilities and warned that any violation of guidelines would attract strict action.

Police said similar drives will continue in the coming days to ensure that SIM cards do not fall into the hands of anti-social or anti-national elements....

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 07:

In a significant step towards promoting administrative efficiency and digital governance, Minister for Administrative Reforms, Inspections & Trainings (ARI & Trainings), Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, IT, Science and Technology, Satish Sharma, today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the proposal for establishing a Single Window Digital System for framing and amending Recruitment Rules (RRs) across all government departments in Jammu and Kashmir.
Commissioner Secretary ARI and Trainings, Shabnum Kamili; other senior officers of ARI and Trainings department were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of streamlining administrative procedures to ensure time-bound and transparent functioning of government departments. He said that the proposed digital platform would mark a major reform in recruitment, enabling faster decision-making and uniform policy implementation.
The Minister appreciated the efforts of the ARI & Trainings Department for conceptualizing the initiative and directed officers to expedite the design and rollout of the system in consultation with GAD, Finance, Law, and JKPSC, ensuring inter-departmental coordination and accountability at every stage.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sharma said, โ€œThis digital reform will significantly reduce administrative delays, bring transparency, and ensure uniform implementation of recruitment policies across all departments. The Single Window System will not only enhance efficiency but also strengthen accountability through real-time monitoring and public accessibility.โ€
He further directed that the system be integrated with the existing E-Office framework, besides capacity-building initiatives for departmental nodal officers be organised to ensure smooth transition and effective implementation.
The Minister also stressed the importance of introducing a public reference view to allow citizens and stakeholders to access approved Recruitment Rules online, reinforcing the governmentโ€™s commitment to transparent and citizen-centric governance.
Pertinently, the new initiative will ensure uniform recruitment policy across all departments, substantial reduction in paperwork and file movement with enhanced transparency through online monitoring, quicker processing and filling of vacant posts, and improved coordination between departments and agencies.
The Single Window Digital System aims to replace the existing multi-tiered and paper-based process with a unified online mechanism. The system will have Online Portal & Dashboard Secure departmental logins with standardized digital templates for proposals, simultaneous online routing to ARI & Trainings, Finance, Law, GAD, and JKPSC, centralized archive of all approved Recruitment Rules, amendments, and notifications, real-time updates through SMS/email and escalation mechanisms for delays, real-time monitoring of pendency and performance indicators, strong data protection and audit mechanisms and defined Timelines for faster approvals.
Under the proposed model intending departments will finalize and submit proposals within 30 days. ARI & Trainings, Finance, Law, GAD, JKPSC, and the Standing Committee will process cases within 10 days each and final approval by the General Administration Department (GAD) will be ensured in a time-bound manner....

DGP J&K Leads Main Commemoration Programme at PCR Kashmir

Srinagar,November 07:-To mark the 150th anniversary of Indiaโ€™s National Song โ€œVande Mataram,โ€ the Jammu and Kashmir Police organized the main commemoration programme at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir. The event was inaugurated by the Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Nalin Prabhat, IPS, who led the celebrations with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

The programme commenced with the collective singing of โ€œVande Mataram,โ€ in which the DGP, senior officers, and a large number of police personnel participated. The powerful rendition echoed through the PCR premises, symbolizing unity, dedication, and devotion to the motherland โ€” values that the song has inspired for generations.

KISHTWAR POLICE TIGHTENS NOOSE ON DRUG PEDDLERS โ€“ THREE ARRESTED, HE**IN, CHARAS & PSYCHOTROPIC CAPSULES RECOVERED.

Continuing its relentless drive against the menace of trafficking, has intensified its operations under the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign. In a series of swift and well-coordinated actions carried out over the past three days, police teams apprehended three drug peddlers in separate locations, leading to the recovery of he**in, charas, and psychotropic capsules from their possession. During the operations, a total of 7.5 grams of **in, 70 grams of charas, 32 of Pyeevon Spas Plus, and โ‚น7,500 in cash were seized.

Providing the details, Sh. Naresh Singh- stated that the district police are maintaining a rigorous crackdown against drug smugglers and peddlers operating within the district. Special teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend offenders to ensure that no individual involved in this illicit trade goes unchecked.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of Headquarters Dr. Ishan Gupta- and Insp. Firdous Ahmed along with other officers. The details of the cases are as follows:
1. Case FIR No. 225/2025 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act, dated 03/11/2025

All the above cases have been registered at the respective police stations, and further investigation is underway to unearth the backward and forward linkages of these drug networks.
