Aangan se Viksit Bharat campaign to give new direction to service, nutrition and values: Poonam Gupta

Jammu, 04 September 2026:

BJP Mahila Morcha General Secretary Poonam Gupta said that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ being undertaken by the Bharatiya Janata Party on the occasion of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s 76th birthday is a resolve to take the spirit of service, compassion and nation-building to every section of society. In the same spirit, the Mahila Morcha’s ‘Aangan se Viksit Bharat' campaign will carry the message of development, nutrition and women’s empowerment to households and Anganwadi centres across society.

Poonam Gupta said that the strong foundation of a Viksit Bharat is built not only through major development projects, but also through healthy families, well-nourished children and empowered women. Therefore, Aangan se Viksit Bharat campaign places the welfare of women, children and families at its centre. Anganwadi centres are like the first schools of nation-building, where children receive support for nutrition, health and early development, while mothers are also provided with essential awareness and services.

She said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, nutrition and maternal and child health have received special priority. Initiatives such as Poshan Abhiyaan, Poshan Tracker, Mission Indradhanush and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana have played an important role in strengthening public participation in the areas of health and nutrition. A well-nourished childhood, she said, is the foundation of a healthy and capable India.

Poonam Gupta said that Prime Minister Modi has laid special emphasis on making women not merely participants in development, but leaders of the development process. Initiatives such as Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana and women’s Self-Help Groups have given fresh momentum to women’s confidence and self-reliance.

She said that the objective of the Mahila Morcha is to transform every Anganwadi centre into a centre of service, awareness, public participation and social transformation. From September 25 to October 7, various service and public-awareness activities will be organised to connect the campaign with wider public participation.

Poonam Gupta appealed to every BJP worker to observe the Prime Minister’s birthday as a festival of service and dedication and reach out to the last person in society.

“Every courtyard should be healthy, every child well-nourished, every mother empowered, and every step should move towards Viksit Bharat—this is the resolve of the Aangan se Viksit Bharat campaign.”

Traditional bhajan by Karak Samrat Rakesh Kumar Jogi seeks to connect younger generations with Jammu’s rich cultural traditions

JAMMU, Sep 2: In a significant initiative to promote and preserve Jammu’s traditional folk and devotional heritage, social activist and Chairman of Nirbhay Bharat Foundation Tarun Uppal, along with renowned theatre personality, actor and President of Nat Manch Tarun Sharma, announced the release of the traditional devotional bhajan “Guga Nomi Di Kharak.” The bhajan has been rendered by acclaimed folk exponent and Karak Samrat Rakesh Kumar Jogi.

The devotional composition is dedicated to the centuries-old spiritual traditions associated with Guga Navami, and seeks to bring Jammu’s rich folk culture, indigenous storytelling and devotional traditions to a wider contemporary audience.

The release comes at a time when traditional folk forms are increasingly seeking new platforms to remain relevant among younger generations. “Guga Nomi Di Kharak” combines the essence of traditional devotional folk music with contemporary musical arrangements, while retaining the cultural character and spiritual sentiment associated with the festival.

‘Our Heritage Must Reach the Next Generation’
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Uppal said that Jammu’s cultural identity is deeply rooted in its folk traditions, devotional practices and indigenous art forms.

“Our cultural heritage belongs not only to the generations that preserved it, but also to the generations that will carry it forward. It is important that our traditional music, folk stories and devotional traditions find a place in the cultural life of today’s youth.”

Uppal said that promoting regional artists and traditional art forms can play an important role in strengthening cultural identity and creating greater appreciation for Jammu’s distinctive heritage.

Folk Music and Theatre Keep Traditions Alive
Tarun Sharma emphasized the contribution of folk musicians, theatre practitioners and grassroots artists in preserving the cultural memory of the region.

He said that traditional art forms can remain relevant when they are presented in ways that allow younger audiences to connect with their roots.

“Guga Nomi Di Kharak is an effort to celebrate a tradition that has deep spiritual and cultural significance. Folk music is not simply entertainment—it carries our stories, beliefs and collective memory,” Sharma said.

A Collective Creative Effort
The bhajan features lyrics and soulful vocals by Karak Samrat Rakesh Kumar Jogi, whose contribution brings the traditional folk character of the composition to the forefront.

The music has been composed and arranged by Kumar Gourav, while the visual presentation has been directed by Rahul Dutta. Raj Kumar has handled the cinematography, with KD Production responsible for post-production and editing.

The creative team said the bhajan is intended to reach devotees, folk-music enthusiasts and younger audiences across Jammu and beyond, while creating renewed interest in the region’s traditional cultural expressions.

The release also reflects an effort to provide greater visibility to local artists and encourage the documentation and contemporary presentation of Jammu’s folk traditions.

The bhajan features soulful vocals and lyrics by acclaimed folk exponent and Karak Samrat Rakesh Kumar Jogi, with the music composed by Kumar Gourav. The accompanying video has been directed by Rahul Dutta, with Raj Kumar handling the cinematography. The visual production was completed by KD Production, which also undertook the post-production and editing, bringing together the musical and visual elements to create a cohesive presentation of the devotional composition.

The video devotional song will be uploaded official on the YouTube channel of “Reventos India”

Wali Temple Echoes with Devotional Chants as Ki Chowki Draws Large Gathering

Jammu: The historic Kali Mata Temple, popularly known as Bawa Wali Mata Temple, at Bahu Fort, echoed with devotional chants and bhajans on Saturday night as a large number of devotees participated in a grand Mata Ki Chowki organised to mark the successful culmination of the Pavitra Chhari and Akhand Jyot Yatra to Shri Machail Mata Temple in Kishtwar.

The programme was organised by the Sarv Shakti Shri Chandi Mata Pavitra Chhari & Akhand Jyot Committee, Jammu & Kashmir, at the parking area outside the historic temple. The religious programme continued from 9 pm till midnight, with devotees joining in prayers and raising slogans in praise of the Goddess.

Renowned devotional singers Naven Punjabi and Varsha Jamwal enthralled the gathering with their soulful bhajans and devotional performances. The programme was conducted by Sahil Mahajan.

The Akhand Jyot brought from Jwala Ji in Himachal Pradesh was one of the major highlights of the evening. Devotees paid obeisance and sought the blessings of the Goddess. Various religious rituals and prayers were also performed during the programme.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MLA Vikram Randhawa, IAS officer Sanjiv Verma, IAS officer Sheetal Nanda and BJP leader Vikrant Gupta. Prominent religious personalities, including Mahant Rameshwar Dass, Mahant Rajesh Bittu, Mahant Bitta Ji and Tripti Shastri, also participated in the programme. Rajesh Gupta, President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, was also present.

The organisers said that the Pavitra Chhari and Akhand Jyot Yatra is aimed at promoting devotion towards Maa Chandi Machail Wali and Maa Bawa Wali and carrying forward the region’s rich religious and cultural traditions.

At the conclusion of the programme, organising committee members Raj Kumar, Dinesh Mahajan, Jyoti Pachnanda, Amit Gupta, Sonu Choudhary, Vikas Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Tek Chand, Mahesh Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Yash Ghai, Uttam Kumar and Varinder Gupta expressed gratitude to the devotees, dignitaries and members of the media for their presence and support in making the Mata Ki Chowki a success.
