Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra Welfare Society Holds Press Conference on Upcoming Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra 2026

Jammu : The Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra Welfare Society today held a detailed press conference at Amar Singh Club, Jammu, regarding the final preparations for the forthcoming Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra 2026, scheduled to be held from June 20 to June 22, 2026.

The press conference was jointly addressed by Shri Kiran Wattal, Convenor of the Society, and Shri M.K. Yogi, General Secretary, in the presence of office bearers, heads of social organizations, intellectuals, and community representatives associated with the Society.

While briefing the media, Kiran Wattal informed that the holy Yatra will commence on June 20, 2026 with a ceremonial flag-off from TRC Nagrota, and culminate on June 22, 2026 at the revered shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani at Tullamulla, Ganderbal, Kashmir. He further informed that this yatra is gateway for which an advance team will leave on June 19 to make necessary arrangements for Langars, accommodation, and logistics at the pilgrimage sites.

The Society appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Administration, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, concerned Deputy Commissioners, Director General of Police, Department of Tourism, and Relief & Rehabilitation Department, J&K, to ensure foolproof security, transportation, accommodation, and availability of essential commodities at major pilgrimage destinations including Kheer Bhawani (Tullamulla), Tikker, Manzgam, Khanbarni Devsar, Lokatpora, Nagdandi, and other sacred sites to facilitate the smooth and successful conduct of the Yatra.

The Society also urged the Tourism Department, J&K, to undertake extensive publicity of the Yatra by installing hoardings, flex banners, and awareness material across Jammu and Kashmir while highlighting the spiritual and historical significance of Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji for wider public awareness.

Further, The Society requested the Municipal Corporations of Jammu and Srinagar and allied departments to ensure proper sanitation, hygiene, lighting, and uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water at all pilgrimage destinations, migrant camps, and transit locations for the convenience of pilgrims.

Addressing the media, M.K. Yogi, General Secretary of the Society, appealed to the displaced Kashmiri community residing in Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Delhi, and other parts of the country to participate in large numbers in the holy Yatra and contribute towards preserving the community’s rich cultural, spiritual, and civilizational heritage.

He also expressed gratitude to the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K, for extending full cooperation and support during the recent preparatory meeting held under his chairmanship with representatives of organizations associated with the Society. He appreciated the continued efforts of the Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj and Tourism Federation UT of J&K (Regd.) for providing logistical support for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.

The Society further appealed to the UT Administration to make adequate medical arrangements for yatris at all pilgrimage sites and en route, particularly at Ramban, to ensure the well-being and safety of devotees.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Vinod Pandita, Chief Coordinator of the Yatra, who expressed gratitude to all social organizations, intellectuals, philanthropists, and community members for their valuable support and participation.

*SSP Jammu Shri Joginder Singh Briefs Media on 50 Days of Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan-Major Achievements of Jammu Police*

Jammu, June 01, 2026:

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Shri Joginder Singh, today briefed the media regarding the remarkable progress achieved by District Police Jammu during the first 50 days of the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan.

Reaffirming Jammu Police's zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and drug trafficking, the SSP stated that a comprehensive strategy combining enforcement, intelligence gathering, community participation, and legal action has yielded significant results in curbing the drug menace across the district.

During the first 50 days of the campaign, 176 cases under the NDPS Act have been registered across District Jammu. As part of the intensified crackdown, Jammu Police has seized:

- He**in (Chitta): 5 Kg 533 grams, valued at approximately ₹16.60 crore
- Poppy Straw: 3 Kg 250 grams, valued at approximately ₹87,000
- G***a: 29 Kg 267 grams, valued at approximately ₹8.78 lakh
- O***m: 1 Kg, valued at approximately ₹27,000

The SSP informed that 202 accused persons have been arrested/detained under the NDPS Act, while one notorious drug offender has been detained under the PIT-NDPS Act, demonstrating the department's resolve to target habitual offenders and dismantle drug networks.

As part of the financial investigation and asset-tracing strategy against narcotics traffickers, Jammu Police has taken substantial action against illegally acquired assets. During the campaign:

- 37 vehicles linked to drug-related activities have been seized.
- 123.290 grams of gold, valued at approximately ₹13.70 lakh, has been frozen.
- 26 bank accounts have been frozen, involving transactions amounting to approximately ₹18 lakh.
- Properties worth ₹5.19 crore have been attached in eight cases, including three movable and five immovable properties.
- ⁠22 Properties belonging to known offenders demolished with distt administration

In addition, stringent administrative action has been initiated against individuals involved in narcotics trafficking:

- 27 Driving Licences have been cancelled.
- 143 Registration Certificates (RCs) of vehicles have been cancelled.

Continuing its offensive against the infrastructure used by drug traffickers, Jammu Police has also demolished 22 illegal structures, including 11 pucca houses and 11 khullas, which were being used for facilitating narcotics-related activities.

Addressing the media, SSP Jammu Shri Joginder Singh stated that the fight against drugs is not merely a law enforcement challenge but a social responsibility requiring collective action from all stakeholders. He appreciated the support and cooperation extended by the public, civil society members, educational institutions, and youth in making the campaign successful.

He urged citizens to continue sharing information regarding drug peddling and narcotics-related activities with the police and assured that every credible input would be acted upon promptly and professionally.

The SSP reiterated that District Police Jammu remains fully committed to the vision of a Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir and will continue its relentless campaign against narcotics with unwavering determination under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan.

Jammu Police remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the youth, safeguarding society, and ensuring that drug traffickers find no space to operate within the district.

Rakesh Mahajan Holds Yuva Morcha Meeting at BJP Headquarters Jammu & Kashmir

May 29: BJP State Vice President Rakesh Mahajan today chaired an important meeting of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha at BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, regarding the nationwide campaign “12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare.”

The meeting was jointly attended and the stage was shared by BJYM State President Arun Prabhat, State General Secretaries Ranjit Singh and Khajuria Ji along with other senior office bearers of the organisation.
Being the Prabhari of BJYM at the state level for this campaign,

Rakesh Mahajan addressed the gathering and discussed in detail the various responsibilities assigned to different morchas during the ongoing fortnight-long programme. He emphasized that Yuva Morcha will actively participate in every activity under the campaign and will play a significant role in making the programme successful across Jammu & Kashmir.
Mahajan said that the special responsibility entrusted to Yuva Morcha regarding exhibitions at the state and district levels will be carried out with full dedication and seriousness.

He further stated that the youth wing will ensure impactful exhibitions showcasing the achievements and public welfare initiatives undertaken during the last 12 years.
He added that all district-level programmes and campaign activities will be conducted in an organized and effective manner with active participation of party workers and youth activists. Referring to the guidance of BJP J&K President Shri Sat Sharma, Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, and Shri Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organisation), Mahajan said that the responsibilities assigned to all morchas must be fulfilled with commitment, discipline and organisational strength.

The meeting was attended by all state office bearers, district presidents, district general secretaries and members of the state executive body of Yuva Morcha.

Addressing the meeting, BJYM President Arun Prabhat reviewed the schedule of monthly meetings at mandal, district and state levels. He took detailed feedback from district presidents regarding organisational activities and fixed timelines for upcoming programmes.

Arun Prabhat stated that Yuva Morcha has always played a proactive role in party campaigns and assured that this time too, the organisation would leave no stone unturned in making the campaign successful at every level

The meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
