Historic Path Sanchalan at Central University of Jammu on the Centenary of the RSS
Jammu, 06 Oct 2025: The Vidyarthi Shakha (student unit) of the Central University of Jammu celebrated the 100th foundation day of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday in the university campus. Prior to the celebration, student volunteers conducted a path sanchalan (route march) inside the campus. This became the first-ever route march in the history of the Central University of Jammu, marking a significant milestone. The event stands as a testimony to the growing connection of youth and students in educational institutions with the RSS, and to its increasing strength and popularity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The centenary celebration was organized in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, discipline, and national spirit. Vijayadashami, symbolizing Indian rich culture and tradition, is celebrated as the victory of truth over falsehood, righteousness over unrighteousness, and virtue over evil.
In this spirit, the Central University of Jammu organized the event to convey a message of national unity, Integrity and cultural pride not only to the university family but also to society at large.
A total of 96 swayamsevaks (volunteers), including students, research scholars, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff, participated in full uniform, Their disciplined and alert demeanor added a special charm to the occasion. In addition, 205 guests, including students, research scholars, faculty, non-teaching employees, and residents of the staff quarters, also actively participated in the program.
The chief speaker of the event was Shri Mukesh Ji, Prant Pracharak of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. In his address, he emphasized the need to awaken the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among the youth and every citizen. He remarked that India endured nearly a thousand years of foreign invasions, particularly under the Mughal and British rulers, which caused immense cultural damage and subjugation. This long period deeply impacted the cultural consciousness of Indian society. He stressed that the reconstruction of nationalistic consciousness and the restoration of cultural pride is the only way forward.
Addressing the youth, Mukesh Ji said that when young people develop discipline, a spirit of service, and dedication to national interest, only then can the nation become strong and self-reliant. He further stated that the 100th foundation day of the RSS not only reminds us of history but also continuously inspires us to work for positive social change and nation-building.
The chief guest of the event was Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu. In his address, he recalled his own association with the RSS and highlighted the organization’s significant contribution to nation-building and instilling patriotism among youth. He also mentioned the service work carried out by RSS volunteers during the Bhopal Gas Tragedy as an example of their commitment to society.
Prof. Jain urged the youth not to limit themselves to academic excellence alone, but to also understand their duties toward the nation. He emphasized that if young people adopt the values of discipline, service, and dedication in their lives, they can not only make their own lives meaningful but also contribute significantly to the progress of society and the nation. His words infused new energy and inspiration among the attendees.
Subhash Ji, Sanghchalak of district Samba, also graced the event as a special guest, adding further dignity and significance to the occasion.
The path sanchalan of the volunteers on the university campus was the highlight of the event. The disciplined procession of swayamsevaks in full uniform passing through the campus presented an inspiring sight for everyone present. The march conveyed the message that discipline, organization, and service are the true strengths of society and the nation.
The Vijayadashami celebration at the Central University was not merely a cultural or religious event, but a living example of patriotism, discipline, and service. The disciplined presence of 108 volunteers, the active participation of 205 guests, the nationalist address by Mukesh Ji, the inspirational thoughts of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, and the dignified presence of Subhash Ji, Sanghchalak of Samba district, gave the event special significance.
The centenary celebration of the RSS at the Central University of Jammu will be remembered as a historic and inspiring milestone, leaving a lasting impression of patriotism, cultural pride, and social unity on the minds of all participants.
