TANTRAY FAZIL
Kulgam, South Kashmir: Residents of Kujar village in the Frisal area of Kulgam district have appealed to the district administration and the concerned departments, including the Flood and Irrigation Department, to take immediate measures to address the worsening condition of the Sonaman Nallah.
According to the residents, recent rainfall has caused a significant rise in the water level of the stream, resulting in severe erosion of its banks at several locations. They expressed concern that the continued erosion poses a potential threat to nearby agricultural land and residential areas, creating fear and uncertainty among the local population.
The villagers have urged the Tehsildar of Frisal and the concerned authorities to inspect the affected areas and initiate necessary protective measures at the earliest to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of residents and their property.
The residents expressed hope that the administration will respond promptly to their concerns and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risk posed by the rising water levels in the Sonaman Nallah.
