*Director Tourism Jammu Inspects Yatri Niwas, Reviews Arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra*
, May 30: Director Tourism Jammu, Dr. Vikas Gupta (JKAS), today visited Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, to inspect the ongoing renovation works and review the preparations being undertaken for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 at YatriNiwas.
During the visit, he conducted a detailed inspection of the accommodation halls, sanitation facilities, langar areas and facelifting and renovation of existing infrastructure being done to facilitate the stay and comfort of pilgrims. He also reviewed the progress of renovation works and interacted with the concerned officers and staff on-site.
The Director also reviewed arrangements related to power supply, drinking water facilities and power backup systems to ensure uninterrupted essential services during the Yatra period. He emphasized the importance of maintaining adequate infrastructure and contingency arrangements for the convenience of pilgrims.
It was informed in the meeting by the concerned Executive Engineer PWD and PDD that all works inside Yatri Niwas shall be completed well before the commencement of the Yatra. Stressing the importance of quality and efficiency, he directed that all preparations be completed within the stipulated timeframe so that adequate facilities are available for the devotees.
He further reviewed arrangements related to publicity and awareness campaigns for the Yatra and issued several directions to the publicity officer Tourism regarding advertisements, promotional material and dissemination of information to pilgrims through various media platforms.
Reiterating the department’s commitment towards providing a safe, comfortable and well-managed experience to the pilgrims, Director Tourism emphasized coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure seamless arrangements at Yatri Niwas and other related facilities.
During the inspection, Deputy Director Tourism (Publicity), Ms. Savita Chauhan; Deputy Director Planning, Ms. Mamta Sharma; Executive Engineer,(R&B) and PDD, Deputy Director Tourism, Sh. Pankaj Sasan; Assistant Director Tourism Jammu, Sh. Vishal Sadhotra; and representatives of other line departments accompanied the Director.
