Demand to Honour Baba Jitto and Preserve His Glorious History
Shaheed Kisan Baba Jitto Sangharsh Samiti staged a protest against the government, alleging that the J&K Government is trying to erase Jammu’s historical heritage and history.

The Samiti stated that Baba Jitto’s legacy is an immortal chapter of Jammu’s history. However, since Independence, successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir have failed to give Baba Jitto the honour and recognition he truly deserves.

Baba Jitto was a great saint of the 15th century who sacrificed his life while raising his voice for the rights and dignity of farmers. Today, millions of people not only in Jammu and Kashmir but across India and abroad revere Baba Jitto with great respect and devotion.

The Samiti said that Jammu and Kashmir has two agricultural universities, yet neither of them has been named after Baba Jitto. At the same time, the government has named parks and government buildings after several martyrs and great personalities. Baba Jitto, who is revered by millions of people, is not limited to any particular caste or religion. People from different communities and religions respect and follow his legacy. He is a symbol of social unity who brings people together.

The Samiti said that ignoring such a great saint is an insult to his legacy and will never be tolerated.

The Samiti demanded that the life, struggle and sacrifice of Baba Jitto should be included in school textbooks so that the coming generations can learn about his history and draw inspiration from his life. The Samiti specifically demanded that Baba Jitto’s history be taught in schools across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Samiti also appealed to BJP MLAs to support this demand, stating that the issue was part of the BJP’s manifesto and that the party should stand by its commitment and raise the demand before the government.

The Samiti made it clear that its struggle for the honour of Baba Jitto and the preservation of his glorious history will continue until justice and due recognition are achieved.

Partap Singh Jamwal (President Samiti), Bhanu Partap Goria, S Sukhvinder Singh, Aman Sharma, Vishal Mehra, Arun Mehra, Sourav, Rinku, Mohit Talwar, Aayeab, Ajay Sharma, Nikhil Sharma, Ubdesh Thakur, Ajay Thakur, Dixit Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Sunil Abhishek, Ansh Mehra, Aaksh Meenis, Abhi Singh, Rajat Singh, Ajay Singh were also present in this protest.
