**Doda, April 16, 2026:**

In a proactive effort to curb illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Doda Police successfully intercepted a tipper bearing registration number JK06B-7455 during routine naka checking at Zero Point Phagsoo. The vehicle was being driven by Idrees Wani, son of Mohd Ramzan, a resident of Nandana, Tehsil Phagsoo.

During the inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle was loaded with minor mineral material (sand) without possessing any valid GR/Form A, as mandated under law for the transportation of such materials.

Taking cognizance of the violation, the vehicle was seized on the spot. The matter has been duly reported to the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Doda for further legal action under relevant provisions.

Doda Police reiterates its firm commitment to strict enforcement against illegal mining activities and urges the public to strictly adhere to lawful procedures.

*DODA POLICE BUSTED ILLEGAL POPPY CULTIVATION IN TIPRI AREA; TWO SEPARATE FIRs REGISTERED UNDER NDPS ACT*

**Doda, April 16, 2026:**

In a significant crackdown on drug-related activities, Doda Police has successfully uncovered illegal poppy cultivation in the Tipri area of Tehsil Thathri. This operation is part of the ongoing commitment to combat the drug menace and enforce the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The breakthrough came after PSI Sahil Verma, while on patrol in Tipri area of Police station Thathri received credible information regarding illegal poppy farming by certain individuals. Acting swiftly, police teams verified the information and confirmed the involvement of the following suspects:

*Nazir Ahmed, son of Gh. Mohd, resident of Tipri, Tehsil Thathri, District Doda*

*Tanveer Ahmed, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Tipri, Tehsil Thathri, District Doda*

Both individuals have been found to have illegally cultivated poppy plants in their agricultural fields, violating the NDPS Act. As a result, two separate FIRs have been filed at Police Station Thathri:

- **FIR No. 28/2026** under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act
- **FIR No. 29/2026** under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act

Investigations are currently underway, and legal proceedings will follow to ensure accountability.

Doda Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to eradicating drug-related issues and illegal cultivation within the district. The department will continue to take stringent action against those involved in unlawful activities.
