*Jammu Police Fosters Trust and Community Connect; Students Celebrate Raksha Bandhan at PS Nagrota*

Today, girl students of Viraj Bal Bhawan School, Khanpur, Nagrota, visited Police Station Nagrota and celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the police personnel,n symbolising the bond of trust, protection and mutual respect between the Police and the community.

During the visit, the students were briefed about the working and functioning of the Police Station and taken on a guided tour of the premises, providing them an opportunity to understand the role and responsibilities of police personnel.

The programme concluded with the distribution of goodies among the students as a token of affection and goodwill.

The initiative aimed at further strengthening Police-community relations and fostering a positive sense of safety, confidence and trust among children, while encouraging meaningful interaction between the Police and the younger generation.

*Jammu Police Detain Tractor Trolley for Illegal Transportation of Sand in Akhnoor*

Jammu, August 2026

Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Jammu Police detained a tractor and seized a trolley loaded with sand being transported without the requisite permission/documents.

In the first incident, Police Post Jourian detained a tractor bearing Chassis No. NHN36300ZLP507414 and Engine No. 287178DX, which was found loaded with sand without any valid permission.

In another incident, Police Post Chowki Choura seized a trolley bearing Registration No. JK02DR-2147 at Bandral Khurd, Chowki Choura, while it was found carrying sand without the requisite permission or Form-A.

The concerned District Mining Officer (DMO), Jammu, has been informed in both cases for further necessary legal action under the applicable mining laws and regulations.

Jammu Police reiterated that strict action will continue against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals to curb violations, protect natural resources and safeguard government revenue.

Dental Checkup Camp Held at Trimurti Mandir, Janipur Colony, Jammu*

JAMMU, AUG 26: A dental checkup camp was organised at Trimurti Mandir, Janipur Colony, Jammu, with the objective of promoting dental health awareness and providing basic dental examination facilities to the general public.

The camp was conducted by Dr. Gautam Sharma, Former President, Indian Dental Association, Jammu, who examined members of the general public and provided valuable advice regarding oral hygiene and preventive dental care.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gautam Sharma emphasised that brushing teeth twice daily is essential for maintaining good oral health. He also advised people to avoid soft and sticky sweet foods, which can contribute to dental problems and tooth decay.

Several prominent personalities were present during the camp, including Smt. Sunita Gupta, Ex-Corporator, Ward 37; Sh. Ashok Salgotra, State Secretary, BJP OBC Morcha; Sh. Manohar Lal Babbar, State Executive Member, OBC BJP Morcha; Sh. Vikas Singh, District Vice-President, OBC Morcha, Jammu North; and Sh. Pankaj Gupta, Senior BJP Leader.

The camp was organised by Abhimanyu Arora, who stated that such health camps are important for creating awareness among people and encouraging them to adopt regular preventive healthcare practices.

The organisers expressed gratitude to Dr. Gautam Sharma and all those who participated in and supported the successful conduct of the dental checkup camp.
