Youth Congress Holds Joining Program at Hazratbal.

Srinagar, CNzs Oct 31 : A joining program was held at Chak Bagh, Hazratbal, Srinagar, where scores of enthusiastic youth joined the Congress party. The event was presided over by Srinagar Youth Congress President Yasir Mandoo.

While addressing the gathering, Mandoo said that “Congress is the need of the hour,” emphasizing the party’s vision of inclusive growth and unity. He further lauded the initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra, particularly his “Humari Riyasat, Humara Haq” program, which he said has been widely welcomed by the people and has enhanced positivity and trust in the Congress leadership.

The “Hamari Riyasat, Hamara Haq” program, launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee earlier this year, seeks to mobilize public support for reinstating J&K’s statehood, ensuring political representation, and upholding the dignity and identity of the region. Under this banner, the Congress has been holding public conventions, hunger strikes, and outreach drives across the Union Territory, urging people from all walks of life to unite for their constitutional rights.

NC–PDP Fixed Match Exposed in Assembly, They Are ‘Bhai Bhai’: Altaf Thakur

NC leadership disrespected Aga Ruhullah; appeals people to back Aga Mohsin for real development, change in Budgam

Srinagar, CNS Oct 30: BJP Jammu and Kashmir spokesman Altaf Thakur on Thursday launched a blistering attack on the National Conference (NC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), alleging that the two parties have once again joined hands in a “fixed match” inside the Assembly.

“People of Jammu and Kashmir should now understand that the NC and PDP are bhai bhai. Their political rivalry is nothing but a stage drama meant to fool the public. When it comes to protecting their personal and political interests, they stand united,” Thakur said in a statement issued here.

He accused the NC leadership of showing “utter disrespect” towards Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, calling him not only a political representative but also a revered religious leader. “Aga Ruhullah has always been respected across communities, but the way NC leadership treated him shows their arrogance and disregard for those who speak the truth,” Thakur said.

Appealing to the people of Budgam, Thakur urged them to reject traditional parties and vote for BJP candidate Aga Mohsin, whom he described as an honest, people-centric leader committed to progress and transparency. “Budgam deserves better. It’s time for real development, not hollow promises. I appeal to the people to give Aga Mohsin a chance and see the change BJP can bring,” he said.

Thakur further said that the upcoming elections will be a “battle between truth and deceit.” “The NC–PDP nexus has kept Budgam and other parts of Kashmir backward for decades. This election is the people’s chance to end that nexus once and for all,” he added.

Trith, Tass aur Jhoot: Altaf Thakur Tears Into Omar Abdullah Over False Job Claims in Assembly

BJP Spokesman Says Not 3 Lakh but 9 Lakh Youth Unemployed in J&K; Questions Omar on Overaged Aspirants

Srinagar, CNS Oct 28: In a sharp rebuttal to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s claims on the state of employment in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur on Tuesday accused the government of “betraying and misleading” the youth with fabricated statistics and hollow promises.

“Trith, Tass aur Jhoot — hadh kardi apnay Omar Sahab!” Thakur said in a strongly worded statement, reacting to Omar Abdullah’s recent assertion that only three lakh youth are unemployed in the Union Territory. “The ground reality completely contradicts this narrative. The fact is that over nine lakh youth in J&K are struggling without jobs, and Srinagar district alone has more than one lakh unemployed youth, not just 23,000 as falsely projected by the Chief Minister,” he said.

Thakur alleged that the figures presented by the Chief Minister are an attempt to “cover up years of administrative failure and lack of vision.” He said the Abdullah-led government has failed to create sustainable employment avenues despite multiple announcements and public assurances.

“People are not looking for hollow words or manipulated figures. They want results, and this government has failed to deliver. Thousands of aspirants have crossed the age bar while waiting for job notifications that never came, and Omar Sahab still talks about fulfilling promises,” Thakur remarked.

He further said that the BJP has repeatedly warned the government about the growing frustration among the unemployed youth, which is now at a breaking point. “There is a crisis of confidence among the youth. Every passing year, thousands of educated youngsters are pushed into despair. This is not development — this is deception,” Thakur stated.

The BJP spokesman urged the Chief Minister to come clean on how many recruitment drives have actually been completed, how many posts remain vacant across departments, and how many youth have aged out of eligibility criteria due to administrative delays.

“Omar Abdullah must stop misleading the people of J&K. His numbers do not reflect the reality of the streets. If his government truly believes in transparency, let them publish the district-wise unemployment data and explain the growing anger among the educated youth,” Thakur said.

He concluded by reiterating that the BJP stands with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, advocating for transparent, merit-based recruitment and long-term employment generation through industrial and entrepreneurship initiatives.

Range Chinar 2.0 Sparks Controversy as Students Denied Entry at NIIT Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 26, KNT: The much-publicized Range Chinar 2.0 festival at NIIT Srinagar, projected as an educational and cultural exhibition celebrating innovation and learning, stirred controversy on Saturday after several students from across Kashmir alleged that they were denied entry despite receiving prior information about the event.

The exhibition, hosted at NIIT Srinagar’s campus, featured multiple stalls showcasing educational material, technology projects, career guidance setups, and interactive sessions. It was promoted as an open event aimed at inspiring young learners. However, several visiting students claimed they were stopped at the main gate and prevented from entering, leading to widespread disappointment and resentment.

“We travelled all the way from Baramulla after hearing that Range Chinar 2.0 was meant for students. But at the gate, security personnel told us we were not allowed inside. It was humiliating. If it wasn’t open to all, they shouldn’t have called it an educational festival,” said a visibly upset student, speaking to KNT outside the campus.

Another student from south Kashmir said she and her classmates were confused and embarrassed. “The organizers should clarify who this exhibition was really for. We were made to wait for hours only to be told we couldn’t go in,” she said.

Sources at NIIT said the event was organized in collaboration with certain departments and was primarily intended for invited institutions and registered participants. “There might have been a communication gap. Entry was limited due to space and security considerations,” one staff member explained.

Despite that, many students questioned the transparency and inclusivity of the event. “If only a handful of selected groups could attend, then calling it an open educational exhibition is misleading,” one student remarked.

When contacted, the official declined to comment on the issue. [KNT]

Rising Costs of Education and Healthcare Deepen Public Anger; Government Accused of Ignoring Core Welfare Issues

*Muhammad Yaseen*

Srinagar, Oct 26, KNT: Public outrage is mounting across Jammu and Kashmir over what many describe as the government’s continued indifference toward people-centric issues, particularly the soaring cost of education and healthcare. Citizens and civic groups say the administration’s failure to regulate private institutions has turned basic rights into privileges affordable only to a few.

In Srinagar and other urban centres, education has become prohibitively expensive. Parents complain that even schools with minimal facilities charge exorbitant annual fees, often exceeding Rs 5,000, in addition to monthly tuition charges. “The concept of affordable education no longer exists,” said a parent from Srinagar. “Private schools impose multiple heads of fees without justification, and the government remains silent.”

The situation is no different in healthcare. The absence of adequate infrastructure in government hospitals forces even the poorest citizens to seek treatment in private facilities that charge heavily for consultations, tests, and medicines. Locals allege that the government has failed to strengthen the public health system, leaving citizens at the mercy of private operators.

A couple of respectable citizens told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that ministers and senior officers remain occupied with inaugurations, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, and photo opportunities instead of addressing real public concerns. “While leaders speak of development, they ignore the fact that families are going bankrupt to educate their children or to pay hospital bills,” said a civil society member.

They said that in the 21st century, election campaigns in Jammu and Kashmir continue to revolve around promises of water, electricity, and roads, while education and healthcare, the true foundations of a developed society, receive little attention. “The government’s priorities are misplaced. Welfare sectors should not be treated as businesses,” said an academic.

They urged the government to enact stringent regulations to prevent private schools and hospitals from exploiting citizens. “Strict laws are needed to stop this unregulated profiteering. Education and healthcare must be made affordable and accessible to all, not just to those who can pay,” they said. [KNT]

BJP’s Altaf Thakur Slams Omar Abdullah Government Over Flight Cut

Says reducing flights from 60 to 30 will hurt tourism and common people

Srinagar, CNS Oct 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today hit out at the Omar Abdullah-led government for reducing the number of flights to Kashmir during the winter season.

In a Statement issued here, BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur said cutting flights from 60 to 30 per day shows poor planning and a lack of concern for the people.

“The Omar Abdullah government has once again proved its insensitivity towards the needs of the common people,” Thakur said. “At a time when Kashmir needs better air connectivity for tourists, business and medical travel, the government has failed to deliver.”

Thakur said the move will make travel difficult and harm the local economy. “Reducing flights in winter will isolate Kashmir and cause huge losses to the tourism sector,” he said.

He added, “This government seems totally disconnected from the ground reality. Instead of making travel easier, it is making it harder for the people.”

Calling it an anti-people decision, Thakur said, “Thousands of families depend on tourism for their livelihood. Reducing flights means snatching their income during the toughest months.”

He urged the government to restore all flights immediately, saying, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve better services, not decisions that push them into inconvenience every winter.”

Er. Aijaz Hussain Campaigns in Budgam; Calls for End to Decades of Deception by NC and PDP
Visits Gareand and Bodina, Seeks Votes for BJP Candidate Aga Syed Mohsin

Budgam, CNS October 25:District Development Council (DDC) Member Srinagar and Co-Incharge Minority Morcha, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, Er. Aijaz Hussain today intensified the BJP’s election campaign in Budgam constituency, visiting Gareand and Bodina areas to seek support for the BJP’s contesting candidate Aga Syed Mohsin.

While addressing public gatherings, Er. Aijaz Hussain appealed to the people to rise above the decades of deceit and dynastic politics practiced by the National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who, he said, have betrayed the aspirations of the people of Kashmir for their personal and family interests.

He asserted that Budgam deserves genuine development, not dynastic domination, and only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can ensure peace, prosperity, and real progress for Jammu & Kashmir.

“For more than seventy years, NC and PDP treated Budgam as their personal property. They gave slogans instead of schools, speeches instead of jobs, and emotions instead of empowerment. The people of Budgam now seek results, not rhetoric,” Er. Aijaz said while addressing locals.
He further urged the people to support Aga Syed Mohsin, describing him as a dedicated, honest, and service-minded candidate who represents the new era of politics envisioned by the BJP.

“Every vote for BJP is a vote for development, dignity, and a corruption-free future. Let us reject the politics of deceit and strengthen the vision of Narendra Modi for a new Jammu & Kashmir,” he added.
Er. Aijaz Hussain’s campaign received a warm and enthusiastic response in Gareand and Bodina, with locals expressing faith in the BJP’s development-oriented approach and the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
