13 Injured in Jammu Bus Accident

Jammu, July 19: A bus accident occurred near Jajjarkotli area of Jammu on Saturday, injuring at least 13 people. Officials reported that the bus, with registration number JKO2AT-2279, overturned . The injured individuals were transported to GMC Jammu for treatment. The police have taken cognizance of the incident and are investigating further.

TRIBUTE TO LANCE NAIK GHULAM MOHAMMAD KHAN,
VIR CHAKRA (POSTHUMOUS) OF 12TH JAMMU & KASHMIR LIGHT INFANTRY

Srinagar, 18 Jul 2025 : On the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Indian Army, on behalf of a grateful nation, paid tribute to Lance Naik Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Vir Chakra (Posthumous), a brave soldier of the 12th Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry and a resident of Baramulla.

This event was organized by Indian Army personnel as part of a special outreach campaign, during which his family received a memento and a letter of gratitude, honouring his supreme sacrifice.

During the Kargil War in 1999, the 12th Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry was deployed in the Batalik Sector. On June 07, 1999, Lance Naik Ghulam Mohammad Khan, a crucial member of Alpha Company, participated in a fierce assault on Point 5203.

At 0430 hours, he spotted approximately 20 enemy personnel advancing towards him and promptly neutralized three with his rocket launcher. When the enemy retaliated, and eight of his comrades fell, he held his ground. Ultimately, he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, achieving martyrdom. For his courage, leadership, and sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the “Vir Chakra”.

His name will forever remain immortal in India's valiant history.

BIG OPERATIONAL SUCCESS FOR BSF: NEUTRALIZES 06 DRONES, RECOVERS HE**IN ON AMRITSAR BORDER

In a remarkable achievement, the alert BSF troops, recovered 06 Pakistani drones along with 04 packets of suspected he**in in the border area of Amritsar in multiple incidents last night.

a) During the night hours of 17th July 2025, the vigilant BSF troops on duty intercepted successive drone intrusion on Amritsar border. Responding quickly, the technical counter measures deployed on border were activated, which flawlessly neutralized every narco drone coming from the Pakistan side. Subsequent search conducted by the BSF recovered *04 DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones with 03 packets of suspected he**in (Gross Weight-1.744 kgs)* from the farming fields near village- Pulmoran. The packets of narcotics were found attached to the drones.

b) In a similar operation near village Roranwala Khurd during night hours, the vigilant BSF troops recovered *01 DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone along with 01 packet of he**in (Gross Weight- 596 grams)*, which got crashed due to technical interference of the counter drone measure.

c) In the early morning hours today, *one more DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone* was intercepted and shot down with the activation of technical counter measure in the vicinity of village Dhanoe Kalan.

In all, the operations by the BSF during the last few hours resulted in recovery of *06 DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones and 2.340 Kgs of he**in*.

Alert BSF troops and impeccable performance of technical counter measures deployed on border led to such incredible achievements, thus decimating the nefarious designs and striking a severe blow to the Pakistani narco-trrror syndicate operating from across the border.

*8 Amarnath Pilgrims Injured As Truck Hit Innova Near Battal Ballian In J&K’s Udhampur*

JAMMU, Jul 18: Eight pilgrims en-route to the holy Amarnath shrine were injured after a truck hit their Innova car near Battal Ballian in Udhampur district.
The accident occurred when a truck bearing registration number PB65AV/9318 hit Innova (UP81BN/3701), which was carrying pilgrims towards Pahalgam Yatra route.
According to preliminary reports, eight passengers were onboard the vehicle at the time of the accident, three of whom sustained minor injuries and were treated on the spot.
However, five others suffered more serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital in Udhampur for further medical attention. Police Registered the case and further investigation going on….

Shri Amarnath Yatra resumes after brief suspension, 7,908 Amarnath Yatris leave Jammu base camp for holy cave shrine*

Srinagar, July 18: After remaining suspended for a day due to inclement weather and slippery track conditions, the Amarnath Yatra resumed on Friday morning on both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes,

They said hundreds of pilgrims were allowed to proceed towards the holy cave shrine, nestled in Himalayas, for darshan.

Pertinently, no pilgrim was allowed to move from either of the twin base camps towards the cave shrine on Thursday as a precautionary measure.

"Continuous rainfall had triggered landslides and rendered the trekking paths unsafe, prompting authorities to temporarily halt the pilgrimage.
Restoration work was immediately undertaken to repair the affected stretches and ensure the safety of pilgrims,” an official said, adding that rescue teams and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) worked tirelessly to make the tracks travel-worthy.

With improved weather conditions and clearance from the concerned agencies, the yatra resumed today from both the Nunwan (Pahalgam) and Baltal base camps this morning, the officials added.

According to official figures, over 2.56 lakh pilgrims have performed darshan of the naturally formed Ice Lingam at the holy cave shrine during the first 15 days of this year’s yatra.

Meanwhile, the 16th batch of 7,908 Amarnath Yatris left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Friday morning amid tight security arrangements.

Officials said the pilgrims departed in a convoy of 261 vehicles, heading towards the twin base camps.

The batch comprised 5,957 males, 1,613 females, 26 children, 290 sadhus, and 22 sadhvis.

The convoy included 170 buses, 22 medium motor vehicles (MMVs) and 69 light motor vehicles (LMVs).

DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, visits Batote, conducts review of operations.

Batote :- Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat -IPS visited Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) Batote to review the security, law and order situation, and administrative readiness in the Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range.

He was received by DIG DKR Range, Shridhar Patil-IPS, along with the SSP Ramban, SSP Traffic NHW, and other senior officers.

A detailed review meeting was held to assess deployment for SANJY–2025, highway security, and anti-terrorist operations. The DGP lauded the efforts of civil and police administration in ensuring a peaceful Yatra till now and emphasised to ensure peaceful conduct of it. He stressed on strengthening of intelligence grid and focused attention on conducting successful operations.

The visit reinforced the significance of inter-agency coordination in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
