Anantnag Police Arrest Drug Peddler, He**in Recovered

Continuing its sustained efforts against the menace of drug trafficking, Anantnag Police arrested a drug peddler and he**in recovered from his possession.

A police party of Police Post General Bus Stand (GBS) was on routine patrolling duty in the Bus Stand area when a suspicious individual was noticed coming from Prem Galli towards the Bus Stand. On observing the police patrolling party, the individual attempted to flee from the spot. However, the alert police personnel acted swiftly and tactfully apprehended him.

During search, he**in was recovered from his possession. The accused was subsequently identified as Arshad Ahmad Sofi S/o Abdul Ahad Sofi R/o Kanelwan.

In this connection, FIR No. 176/2026 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the contraband substance.

Anantnag Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and appeals to the general public to continue supporting the police by sharing information related to drug peddling and other criminal activities in their areas.

R S Pura Police Traced Three Missing Persons and Reunited with Their Families

In a commendable display of prompt action and dedicated policing, Police Station R.S. Pura successfully traced three missing persons and reunited them with their respective families.

The missing persons traced out are:

1. Rashpal Singh, son of Raghbir Singh, resident of Agwan, Tehsil R.S. Pura, District Jammu. His missing report was registered vide DDR No. 12 dated 14.08.2025 on the written complaint of his father, Raghbir Singh son of Chet Ram.

2. Suman Kumari, wife of Daleep Kumar, resident of Badila, Tehsil R.S. Pura, District Jammu. Her missing report was registered vide DDR No. 14 dated 03.06.2026 on the written complaint of her husband, Daleep Kumar son of Jagtar Lal.

3. Radha Rani, daughter of Mohan Lal, resident of Chakrohi, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu. Her missing report was registered vide DDR No. 12 dated 06.06.2026 on the written complaint of her father, Mohan Lal son of Amarnath.

Acting swiftly upon receipt of the missing reports, police teams of Police Station R.S. Pura launched sustained efforts and conducted extensive searches. Through meticulous investigation and technical assistance, the missing persons were successfully traced.

After completing all required legal formalities, the traced individuals were safely reunited with their families and handed over to their legal heirs.

The successful tracing of the missing persons reflects the commitment and professionalism of Jammu Police in ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens. Jammu Police remains dedicated to providing prompt assistance to the public and resolving such cases with utmost priority.

TWO INTER-DISTRICT DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED WITH COMMERCIAL QUANTITY OF HE**IN AT MAJALTA BY UDHAMPUR POLICE

Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, Udhampur Police achieved a success against drug trafficking by apprehending two inter-district drug peddlers during routine naka checking at Battal Naka, Majalta. The accused, who were moving on foot from the Ramkot side towards Battal were intercepted and subjected to search.

The individuals were later identified as Mohd Arif S/o Mohd Bika R/o Skinderpur, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu and Mohd Shakeel S/o Mohd Hanif R/o Lalabhag, Tehsil Marh, District Jammu.

During their personal search, 530.9 grams of he**in (chitta), falling under commercial quantity, was recovered from their possession. Besides the contraband, two mobile phones and one weighing machine were also seized.

In this connection, FIR No. 94/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation is underway.
