Sangrash Samiti formed on the Issue of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College

A decision was taken in a meeting of 60 different organizations called by Shri Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Jammu Kashmir

Colonel Sukhbir Singh Mankotia unanimously elected as the convenor of the samiti

A “Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangrash Samiti” has been formed on Saturday to address the issue of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College. In this regard, on the call of the Shri Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Jammu & Kashmir, a meeting of 60 different social, community, business, and religious organizations from the city was held in Geeta Bhawan under the chairmanship of the Sabha’s president, Purushottam Dadhichi. In that meeting, the decision was taken to form the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangrash Samiti. Retired Colonel Sukhbir Singh Mankotia was unanimously elected as the Sangrash Samiti’s convenor.
Purushottam Dadhichi, president of the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, said that a meeting of various organizations of the city had been organized because widespread opposition had emerged in society after students from a single particular community were selected for 42 out of the 50 MBBS seats in the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College. He said in the meeting, all the group leaders shared the opinion that a struggle was necessary for a lasting solution to this issue and therefore, by consensus, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangrash Samiti was formed. Colonel Sukhbir Singh Mankotia was declared convenor by common consent.
All the leaders of the organizations present at the meeting assured that they would fully support every decision taken by the Sangrash Samiti. Everyone pledged that no effort would be spared in making this movement successful. The meeting ended with cheers for Mata Vaishno Devi.

Ramban Police Intercept Narcotics Consignment, 28 grams he**in recovered.

Police Station Batote received credible and specific information regarding the movement of an individual allegedly involved in the illegal trade of narcotic and psychotropic substances. Acting swiftly, a police team intercepted the suspect, who was travelling from Jammu/Udhampur towards Ramban in a private vehicle. During the operation, a Chitta(he**in) like substance around 28 grams was recovered, which the suspect was reportedly intending to distribute illegally within District Ramban.

Preliminary investigation confirmed that the individual was in unlawful possession of the contraband and was transporting it for illicit trafficking. Consequently, a case under the appropriate provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Batote. The investigation has been handed over to a designated Investigating Officer to ensure a thorough and professional probe into the matter.

Jammu Police, South Zone Continues Strong Action Against Illegal Mining Under Operation Ploughing; Multiple Vehicles Seized

Jammu Police, South Zone, under its sustained drive against illegal mining (operation ploughing) has seized multiple vehicles involved in unlawful transportation of minor minerals.

In separate operations carried out:
• Police Post Phallian Mandal seized one dumper and one tipper found involved in illegal mining activities.
• Police Post Belicharana intercepted and seized two dumpers loaded with bajri being transported without any valid permission or documents.
• Police Post Gadigarh seized one tractor-trolley laden with illegally extracted stones.

All seized vehicles were found carrying material illegally extracted from riverbeds and adjoining areas without mandatory permits.

The DMO Jammu has been duly informed for further necessary action. Jammu Police South Zone remains committed to acting firmly against illegal mining operators who damage ecological balance and engage in unlawful exploitation of natural resources. Regular checks, intensified patrolling, and surprise inspections will continue in all vulnerable areas to ensure strict enforcement.
