76th Independence Day: Ashok koul unfurls national flag at BJP headquarters in Srinagar

Srinagar Aug 15 : Nation is celebrating its 76th independence day. On this special occasion, BJP's General Secretary Organization Ashok Koul along with Spokesperson Altaf Thakur, Kashmir Media In-charge Manzoor Bhat, Arif Raja Ashok Bhat, Bilal Parray and Salinder Singh on Monday unfurled the national flag at party headquarters in Srinagar.

Kou said that the celebrations this year are so special as Independence Day falls in the 75th year of Independence, being celebrated as 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' across the country.

he said that today the entire Kashmir has been painted in the color of tricolor and people are celebrating it like a festival and the procession was seen today. It was a completely different and people waved the tricolor in their homes with great enthusiasm.

Prime minister Narendra Modi-led government for taking brave decisions during his tenure. "In the last Eight years, PM Modi's government did a commendable job. We have seen massive development in Jammu and Kashmir The efforts and initiative taken by the PM Modi's government executed the vision of Modi which is globally applauded" said koul.

Heartiest greetings of 'Independence Day' dedicated to justice, freedom, equality, national unity and integrity and fraternity in the world's largest democracy, Koul "said

Koul also greeted the party workers of the valley on the occasion.

Cop Shot At, Injured in Bijbhera Anantnag, shifted to hospital

Srinagar, August 12:Suspected militants on Friday shot at and injured a Special Police Officer (SPO) at Kurkadal in Bijbhera area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

A top Police officer told GNS that militants fired upon a SPO namely Ghulam Qadir inside Dara Shikoh Park KurKadal Bijbehra this afternoon.

He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. His status of health condition was not available at the time of this story was being filed.

Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

During intervening night, terrorists fired upon & injured one outside labourer Mohd Amrez S/O Mohd Jalil R/O Madhepura Besarh at Soadnara Sumbal, Bandipora. He was shifted to hospital for treatment where he succumbed.
