People of Jammu Welcome Omar led Government decision to restore traditional Darbar Move: Rattan Lal Gupta

*Gupta Urges Party Cadres to Expose BJP’s False Narrative with Facts*

Jammu, 17 October: Senior leader and Provincial President Jammu, JKNC Rattan Lal Gupta said that the people of Jammu have wholeheartedly welcomed the Omar Abdullah led Government decision to restore the age-old tradition of the Darbar Move between Srinagar and Jammu. This historic practice, symbolizing unity and administrative balance between the two regions, had been unjustly discontinued by the LG administration since 2021. The restoration of the Darbar Move reflects the commitment of the Omar led Government to maintain the cultural, emotional and administrative harmony of Jammu and Kashmir. It ensures equal attention and accessibility of governance to both regions, thereby strengthening the sense of inclusiveness and mutual respect among the people.

Speaking at the party’s provincial headquarters, Sher-e-Bhawan, Jammu, Gupta said the BJP has “run out of excuses, out of performance, and out of credibility.” He asserted that the people of Jammu can now see through the BJP’s deception and propaganda.“After eleven years of misrule, what has the BJP left behind except financial scandals, institutional collapse, and broken promises? Whether it’s the Jal Shakti department or the mining sector, corruption and mismanagement have been their trademarks,” Gupta said.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President (Jammu), Rattan Lal Gupta, called upon all party units across the Jammu region to "boldly counter the BJP's false and fabricated narrative" against the Omar Abdullah-led government, urging them to reach the people with “facts, figures, and the truth that BJP is desperate to hide.”

He pointed out that despite receiving an overwhelming mandate from the people of Jammu, the BJP has betrayed the region on every front.“Jammu, which reposed immense faith in BJP, has been deceiving at every step. What did we get? Outsourced mining contracts, the destruction of local businesses by outside retail giants, and the neglect of real development needs,” he stated.

Highlighting the inclusive approach of the Omar Abdullah-led government, Gupta reminded people of the significance of Jammu’s representation in governance.

“It was the NC-led government that gave Jammu real representation in power — making Surinder Choudhary the Deputy Chief Minister. He’s not a ceremonial figure — he’s leading development from the front,” Gupta said. “When calamity struck, Surinder Choudhary was on the ground, shoulder to shoulder with the people. Where were the BJP legislators then? Nowhere to be seen — hiding behind press notes and photo-ops. After 11 years, their only legacy is broken infrastructure, disillusioned youth, and a city gasping for development. The people of Jammu deserve better — and they remember who truly stood with them.”

He urged party workers to actively counter these narratives. “Every party unit must rise to the occasion. Go door to door, speak to the people, tell them about the real achievements of the Omar Abdullah government not with slogans, but with facts,” he asserted. “We don’t need to manufacture stories. Our work speaks for itself.” The National Conference firmly believes that truth and performance will ultimately prevail over lies and deception. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are wise enough to see through the BJP’s tactics. The National stands united and determined to protect the dignity, identity, and democratic rights of the people.
