11 Commercial Department employees of Jammu Division honored with certificates of appreciation for commendable work and outstanding service_*

Jammu,
An award ceremony was organized today, 10 August 2026, by the Commercial Department of Jammu Division at the office of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu. During the event, Mr. Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, officially honored 11 outstanding frontline employees of the Commercial Department with certificates of appreciation and commendation letters for their exceptional performance in recent months. These railway employees were selected based on their extraordinary contributions, which included playing a pivotal role in revenue enhancement through ticket-checking drives, promoting the digital shift by encouraging UPI transactions at booking counters, and making significant contributions toward passenger safety, assistance, and the safe recovery of misplaced luggage across various stations and trains in the division. The honored employees demonstrated remarkable promptness in effectively curbing ticketless travel—a key component of the division's revenue protection strategy. Through regular and well-planned ticket-checking drives conducted on trains and platforms, these employees successfully detected irregularities and helped generate record revenue for the Jammu Division. Additionally, these railway staff played a crucial role in accelerating the government's 'Digital India' campaign. They actively encouraged passengers at ticket counters to use UPI and other digital modes of payment instead of cash, thereby saving time in booking queues and ensuring transparency in financial transactions. A particularly commendable aspect of this award ceremony was the employees' integrity and their deep commitment to passenger welfare. Several employees were specifically honored for providing prompt assistance to passengers on trains, in waiting halls, and on platforms; for coordinating efforts during emergencies; and for honestly returning valuables and bags—inadvertently left behind by passengers—safely to their rightful owners. This exemplary conduct and integrity on the part of the staff have further strengthened public trust in the railway administration. The constant vigilance and helpful attitude of these commercial staff members at the stations have created a safe and convenient travel environment for the general public, tourists, and pilgrims visiting the region. Addressing the gathering, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Uchit Singhal highly commended the hard work, honesty, and passenger-centric approach demonstrated by the commercial staff. He emphasized that these frontline employees are the true face of Indian Railways and that their dedication directly impacts the railway's image. Shri Uchit Singhal stated that increasing revenue, adopting digital systems, and compassionately assisting passengers in distress define the core identity of our railway family. He urged the entire staff to maintain this same energy and reiterated that passenger safety, convenience, and complete satisfaction remain the top priorities of the Jammu Division; he further assured that dedicated staff members who perform outstanding and exemplary work will continue to be encouraged and honored in the future.

Northern Railway,
Jammu Division,
ammu Division Breaks All-Time Punctuality Record; Creates History with a Historic Figure of 94.12%_

Jammu, 10 August 2026
Jammu Division has set a new benchmark for efficiency within Indian Railways. Adding a historic chapter to Indian Railways' operations, Jammu Division has achieved its highest-ever single-day punctuality record for Mail and Express trains. On 31 July 2026, the division recorded an exceptional punctuality rate of 94.12%, marking a golden milestone in its operational history. This new record significantly surpasses the division's previous best performance of 92.59%, achieved on 20 February 2025. A remarkable triumph over challenging operational hurdles, this success is particularly noteworthy as it was achieved not under ideal conditions, but amidst complex, large-scale infrastructure modernization work. Jammu Division maintained this impeccable schedule while successfully executing multiple major traffic and maintenance blocks across the network. Beyond routine maintenance, complex technical tasks were carried out without disrupting passenger travel. The power of precise planning and unparalleled teamwork lies behind this statistical victory; it is a story of human coordination, meticulous planning, and round-the-clock hard work. Railway officials attribute this historic success directly to the flawless synergy between ground staff and core management teams. Notably, the Control Office served as the nerve center of this entire operation. Thanks to constant monitoring, careful planning, and the ability to make quick decisions, control room staff successfully averted potential delays in a timely manner. The dedication demonstrated by officials, trackmen, engineers, and technicians reflects the Railways' commitment to passenger safety and the value of their time. With this historic achievement—setting new standards for the passenger experience—the Jammu Division has sent a clear message that infrastructure development and passenger convenience can go hand in hand. By proving that major maintenance operations need not result in train delays, the division has set an exemplary precedent for other railway divisions across the country. Looking ahead, the Jammu Division remains fully committed to maintaining this momentum, leveraging advanced technology, and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable travel for the millions of passengers arriving from every corner of the nation.
