07/10/2025

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 08-10-2025:-
NH-44 (NHW)
Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) has NOT been fully restored at Tharad, Udhampur.

Jammu-Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 10 hrs 30 mins. due to shooting stones/mudslide at multiple places. Slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single lane traffic at Tharad, breakdown of *05 HMVs* and movement of *15* nomadic flocks on NH-44.

*Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock* are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at *Tharad (Udhampur), at Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather, also heavy movement of nomadic flocks on NH-44* .

Commuters are advised to *follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion* . *Avoid travel on NH-44*, in view of heavy movement of nomadic herds, if not necessary.

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, *tomorrow only one way traffic for LMVs shall be permitted from Srinagar towards Jammu on NH-44.*

These vehicles shall be allowed *from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) between 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs*

*No LMV* shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar on NH-44.

*LMVs* going towards *Distt. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban* *from Jammu* shall be allowed *from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0700 hrs 1000 hrs.* However, *LMVs* coming from *Distt. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban* towards Jammu will be permitted to move but these vehicles must cross the *Nashri Tunnel before 1000 hrs.*

*Mughal road is open* for LMVs from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.

*HMVs/Load Carriers:-*
Due to blockage of NHW, down HMVs from Qazigund could not be released. Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, *only stranded HMVs at Qazigund area shall be allowed towards Jammu. However, up HMVs from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar shall be allowed only after the down HMV tail crosses Tharad (Udhampur)*. TCU Udhampur/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.

*SFs Convoy Movement:-*
Security Forces are advised/requested *not to ply against advisory* /traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of *narrow carriage way between Tharad and Balinallah/Marog and Kishtwar Pathar* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from *Srinagar towards Jammu* after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

*Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-*
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road is still closed due to snow accumulation.

*SSG ROAD*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed *from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0500 hrs. to 1000 hrs.* Similarly, *LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs* . *No* vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.
