*52 QUARTERS OF JK SPECIAL WHISKY SEIZED BY POLICE TEAM OF PP RAMKOT AT DHRAMNI; 01 BOOTLEGGER ARRESTED.

KATHUA, 28 OCT ;
Continuing its efforts to discourage the trade and transportation of illicit liquor, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma -IPS* arrested one bootlegger & recovered 52 Quarters of JK Special Whisky (180 ml each) from the possession of one person at Darmani area of PP Ramkot (PS Billawar) area.

On 27-10-2025 police team led by IC PP Ramkot PSI Ranbeer Singh under the supervision of *SDPO Billawar Sh. Neeraj Padyar JKPS & SHO PS Billawar Insp. Zaheer Mushtaq* during naka/ checking in its jurisdictional area at Darmani apprehended one person namely Yog Raj S/o Dewan Chand R/o Darmani Tehsil Ramkot District Kathua. During checking 52 Quarters of JK Special Whisky ( 180 ml each) recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR No 156/2025 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at PS Billawar.

*SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma- IPS* assures that strict action will be taken against anyone caught involved in illegal Trade/transportation of illicit liquor.
The general public appreciates the efforts of Police in seizing the Stockpile of Illcit liquor and apprehending the accused and believes that such actions will deter others from engaging in similar activities.

*Missing Girl Reunited with Family by P/S Billawar*

Kathua, 25 October 2025 :- J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS* traced out one missing girl in the jurisdictional area of PS Billawar and reunited her with family members.

On 05-10-2025 one lady namely Khurshid Begum W/O Abdul Rehman R/O Mandli Tehsil Billawar Distt.Kathua came at this P/S Billawar and lodged a written complaint regarding missing of her daughter namely Muskan Akhter Age- 18 years D/O Abdul Rehman R/O Mandli Tehsil Billawar. On receiving a complaint a missing report was entered at this P/S Billawar vide GD No.16 dated 05-10-2025 and a team of P/S Billawar led by *SHO Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh Neeraj Padyar* searched various places, with the help of technical assistance along with timely human intervention recovered the missing girl .After completing all legal formalities the said missing girl handed over to her legal heirs. Moreover missing report stands closed.

सतीश शर्मा ने आज छम्ब विधानसभा क्षेत्र का व्यापक विकास दौरा किया और स्थानीय बुनियादी ढांचे को मजबूत करने और नागरिक सुविधाओं में सुधार लाने के उद्देश्य से कई जन कल्याणकारी परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन और शिलान्यास किया।
दौरे के दौरान, मंत्री ने गजुबन में मोहल्ला बोध राज के मैकेडमीकरण और माता मंदिर ढलेरी के पास श्मशान घाट के संवर्द्धन कार्य का उद्घाटन किया। उन्होंने खौड़ में बीडीओ कार्यालय के पास एक गेस्ट हाउस की आधारशिला भी रखी, जो आने वाले अधिकारियों और आम जनता के लिए सुविधा के रूप में काम करेगा।
उन्होंने रख मलाल में एक गली और नाली के निर्माण कार्य का उद्घाटन किया और जय बाबा कालीवीर देव साथन, मट्टू में एक सामुदायिक भवन की आधारशिला रखी, जिससे सभी क्षेत्रों में समावेशी विकास सुनिश्चित करने के सरकार के संकल्प की पुष्टि हुई।

* # One Public Intoxication Offender Sentenced to Community Service under 355 BNS by Hon'ble Court in case of Police Station Billawar

Kathua; 08 Oct:-J&K Police Kathua in Police Station Billawar has led to the conviction of person namely * *Abdul Rashid S/O Hussain Din R/O Kohag Tehsil Billawar Distt.Kathua* for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. The Hon'ble Court of JMIC Billawar delivered the verdict today, marking a progressive step towards reformative justice.

The incident took place on 07.10.2025, in the jurisdiction of the Police station Billawar, where the accused person was found intoxicated and creating a public disturbance. He was promptly arrested, subjected to a medical examination, and presented before the concerned Judicial Magistrate.

Rather than imposing traditional imprisonment, the court opted for community service as a corrective measure. ***The said person convictions has been directed to perform **community service at Court Complex premises at Billawar for two hours from today.*

This provision under the new criminal laws emphasizes rehabilitation and community engagement for minor offenses, promoting reform over punishment. The effort by Kathua Police demonstrates a shift toward a more constructive approach in addressing public misdemeanors, setting a precedent for similar cases in the future.
