Modi Govt Secures Future of Students, Frees Education from Radical Influence : Gaurav

Gaurav Gupta, Spokesperson BJP J&K UT, said that the Government’s decision to take over 215 schools affiliated with the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) and Falah-e-Aam Trust (FAT) is a historic and courageous step to safeguard the future of nearly 60,000 students and ensure that education in Jammu & Kashmir remains free from radicalisation. This action reflects the firm resolve of the Modi Government to protect young minds from any form of extremist influence.

He further stated that for decades these institutions, instead of serving as centres of knowledge and progress, were unfortunately misused by separatist elements to propagate their ideology. This not only put the academic future of children at risk but also attempted to derail the vision of a peaceful and developed Jammu & Kashmir.

Now, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, these schools will function under a newly constituted management that will work transparently and in coordination with the School Education Department. The schools will strictly follow National Education Policy (NEP) norms to ensure quality education, discipline, and accountability. This will give students the opportunity to excel in academics and contribute positively to the nation.

Gupta said that this bold move is not just an administrative action but a landmark reform in the education sector of Jammu & Kashmir. It sends out a powerful message that the Government will not allow extremist networks to function under the garb of education. Instead, schools will once again become true temples of learning where children’s pens will write stories of peace, progress, and prosperity.

He added that the Bharatiya Janata Party fully supports this decision and assures the people of Jammu & Kashmir that every measure will be taken to ensure that the academic careers of children are safeguarded, teachers are protected, and parents regain full confidence in the system.

Jammu, 22 August: The Indian National Congress has appointed senior leader, three-time legislator, and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Tara Chand, as a Member of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) SC Advisory Council.

The high-profile national-level Advisory Council includes eminent leaders such as former Speaker of the Lok Sabha Smt. Meira Kumar, former Union Home Minister Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde, several former Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and PCC Presidents from across the country.

The appointment of Shri Tara Chand has been widely hailed by the leaders of the Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), who termed it a significant move to further strengthen the Congress party at the grassroots level in J&K.

Shri Tara Chand, a three-time MLA from the border constituency of Chhamb, has served the party and the state in several key roles. He remained the Leader of the Congress Legislative Party in 1996, served as Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly, and later as the Deputy Chief Minister in 2008. His long political career has been marked by dedication to public service and strengthening democratic institutions.

Earlier, the Congress Party also entrusted him with the responsibility as Chairman of the Campaign Committee for J&K, where he played a vital role in mobilizing support and energizing the cadre base of the party.

Welcoming the appointment, senior Congress leaders in J&K expressed confidence that Shri Tara Chand’s inclusion in the AICC Advisory Council will give a strong voice to the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir at the national level and contribute significantly to the party’s organizational revival.
