Awaz E Bunjwah Successfully Organises One-Day Dangal Mela at Devigoal, Bunjwah

Event promotes communal harmony, brotherhood, sportsmanship and a drug-free society

Bunjwah /Kishtwar; Awaz E Bunjwah successfully organised a One-Day Dangal Mela at Devigoal, Bunjwah, bringing together wrestlers, youth, government officials, security personnel, political representatives and the general public in an atmosphere of peace, unity, brotherhood and sportsmanship.

The Dangal Mela witnessed active cooperation and support from the District Administration Kishtwar, Tehsil Administration Bunjwah, J&K Police, SOG Wing Devigoal, Indian Army 26 RR Company Patnazi, Rural Development Department Block Bunjwah, Health Department, Jal Shakti Department and Power Development Department.

Political representatives from different parties, prominent citizens and people from various parts of Bunjwah also extended their valuable support and cooperation towards the successful conduct of the event.

The organisers stated that the main objective behind organising the Dangal was not merely to promote traditional wrestling but also to strengthen communal harmony, unity and brotherhood, encourage young people to participate in sports and healthy activities, and spread awareness regarding the importance of making Bunjwah a drug-free area.

The event provided an opportunity for wrestlers to showcase their sporting talent and for the public, particularly the youth, to come together in a positive and disciplined environment.

Officials Honoured for Valuable Support

On the successful conclusion of the event, Awaz E Bunjwah volunteers honoured individuals who extended significant support and cooperation in making the programme successful.

Tehsildar Bunjwah Shri Tejinder Sharma, JKAS; Block Development Officer Bunjwah Shri Aijaz Ahmed Butt; and the Major of 26 RR Company Patnazi were presented Certificates of Appreciation, badges and shawls as a token of gratitude for their valuable contribution and cooperation.

Awaz E Bunjwah also acknowledged the support and encouragement extended by Hon’ble MLA Inderwal Shri Pyare Lal Sharma, former minister G.M. Saroori, Farooq Ahmed Keen, Bihari Lal Sharma, Mohd Iqbal Keen, Khurshid Ahmed Wani, Mohinder Singh and Sunil Kumar, besides the general public of Bunjwah.

Public Appreciated for Maintaining Peace and Discipline

The organisation expressed its gratitude to the people of Bunjwah for maintaining peace, discipline, unity and brotherhood throughout the event.

The organisers said that the successful conduct of the Dangal Mela reflected the collective spirit, unity and cooperative strength of the people of Bunjwah, and demonstrated that community-led initiatives can play an important role in promoting positive social change.

Awaz E Bunjwah further appealed to the youth to come forward, participate in constructive activities, represent society positively, maintain discipline and brotherhood, and extend their support to initiatives aimed at the welfare and development of Bunjwah.

The organisation reiterated its commitment to promoting sports, communal harmony, youth engagement, social responsibility and a drug-free society and pledged to continue working for the welfare, development and cultural promotion of Bunjwah.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday said it trapped and arrested a Patwari after he was allegedly caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe for issuing a revenue extract (Fard) in the Waterrehal area of Budgam district

In a statement issues, a spokesperson said the ACB received a written complaint alleging that a Patwari, namely Bashir Ahmad, posted as Patwari Halqa Gund Ali Nayak, Waterrehal, had demanded illegal gratification from the complainant for issuing a Fard (Revenue Extract).Geographic Reference

He said the complainant, a resident of Gund Ali Nayak, Waterrehal, Tehsil Khansahab, Budgam, had applied online for issuance of the Fard on July 21, 2026, on behalf of his grandfather, who is elderly and unable to pursue the matter himself.

The spokesperson said that after submitting the application, the complainant approached the concerned Patwari to enquire about its status. The Patwari initially informed him that the Revenue Department’s online portal was not functioning and asked him to visit after some time.
