New Year, Cold Weather, Yet Protest Continues: Labour Stir at Ratle Project Completes 21 Days.
The protest by labourers at the Ratle Power Project site in Drabshala entered its 21st consecutive day on New Year’s Day, continuing despite cold weather and rainfall. The protesters remained seated on a peaceful dharna, demonstrating their resolve to pursue their demands.
Today’s protest was led by Shri Vinod Parihar, who accused the company of adopting a contradictory stance on employment. He alleged that while the company claims there are no vacancies following the removal of local labourers, information gathered by the union suggests that more than a dozen new appointments have been made during the same period. The protesters reiterated their demand for the reinstatement of local workers and transparency in hiring practices.
