Jammu, 1st September 2025: The Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha earlier today, accompanied Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah to survey the rain and flood affected areas of Jammu.

The Lieutenant Governor in a statement said: "My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their loved ones and those who have suffered loss of property in this massive natural calamity. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon'ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah have assured that every possible effort will be made to provide immediate relief to the families, restoration of buildings, roads and other infrastructure and all the help will be extended to affected families to reconstruct their lives.

Army, Air Force, NDRF, NHAI, CAPFs, SDRF, J&K Police and UT Administration have deployed all possible resources for rescue and relief efforts and providing aid and assistance to those who have been evacuated to safe locations. Due to unusual climatic occurrences, district-level officers to remain alert and must keep watch on the situation round the clock. I urge people to take all precautions and stay in a safe place".

Div Com Kashmir reviews status of Srinagar Smart City projects

Calls for completion of projects within timelines, resolution of interdepartmental issues

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 01: Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Anshul Garg reviewed the physical & financial status of Srinagar Smart City projects in a meeting held here, today.

Besides, Commissioner SMC Fazlul Haseeb, the meeting was attended by Chief Engineers of I&FC, KPDCL, PWD R&B, SSCL, Joint Commissioner SMC, General Manager Finance, SSCL, General Manager P&UD, SSCL, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineer Srinagar Smart City Limited and other officers.

At the outset, Commissioner SMC gave a detailed powerpoint presentation of the developmental and beautification protects executed by SSCL across City including Jhelum Waterfront Development & Water Transport, Urban Rejuvenation & Lakefront Development, Heritage Conservation & Downtown Renewal, Central Business District Upgradation, Urban Mobility, Street & Intersection Development, Information Technology, City Beautification & Urban Art, Green & Resilient Srinagar.

It was stated that out of 161 sanctioned projects, 153 projects have been completed while the work on the remaining 8 projects is currently in progress.

Addressing the officers, Div Com stated that the aim of Smart City Projects is to improve the public services and emphasized to ensure that all the planned services are delivered on time.

He highlighted that as the time is progressing gradually the deadline for the Smart City projects is also approaching and stressed on the executing agencies to expedite the works to meet stipulated timelines.

To achieve the established targets on time, Div Com urged officers to project impeding issues of inter-agencies for early resolution and smooth ex*****on of projects.

Regarding development of bus stops for e-buses, Anshul Garg directed SSCL to consider winter weather conditions for development of closed bus stops.

He also directed for full operationalisation of ITMS cameras and IT related services of ICCC

Authorities order closure of Dental Clinic in Bandipora

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 01: Authorities in Bandipora has ordered closure of a dental clinic behind Khadim Market in the town, after it was found flouting prescribed rules, regulations, and guidelines.

The orders for its closure were issued during an inspection. The said clinic was observed to be operating without requisite infrastructure and qualified staff as mandated under health norms.

Owners of the clinic were directed to first complete all necessary formalities and obtain required clearances, following which the establishment may be considered for reopening.Until then, the clinic shall remain closed.

Authorities further stated that such inspections shall be carried out in all clinical establishments in the times to come to ensure compliance with health regulations and safeguard public safety.
