Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj highlights community issues before Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh UT
KPs hopeful LG Kavinder Gupta will voice their issues before PM Modi Govt: Wattal
A delegation of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj, led by its Convenor, Kiran Wattal, today paid a courtesy visit to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Union Territory, Kavinder Gupta . During the meeting, the delegation highlighted community issues before LG Gupta and expressed hope that they will be communicated before union govt by LG Gupta.The delegation comprised prominent members of the Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj from different regions, including Kamal Krishan Ganjoo, Muktesh Yogi, Anil Kumar Bhan, Ashutosh Pandit, Shuban Krishan Bhat, Ashok Ji Raina, Kuldeep Kisroo, and Tej Krishen Raina, among others.
The delegation lauded the illustrious career of Kavinder Gupta , highlighting his significant contributions as former Mayor of Jammu, Deputy Chief Minister, and Hon'ble Speaker of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly. They expressed confidence that under his able leadership, Ladakh UT will witness inclusive development and prosperity.The delegation conveyed heartfelt thanks to Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and Hon'ble Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji for their significant and people-centric decision in appointing Kavinder Gupta Ji as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh UT.
The community expressed its expectations from the new administration, hoping that under the leadership of Kavinder Gupta , Ladakh UT will achieve new heights of development and progress. The delegation assured full cooperation and support to the Lieutenant Governor in his endeavors to uplift the region.The meeting was a testament to the community's enthusiasm and optimism about the future of Ladakh UT under the leadership of Kavinder Gupta Ji. The Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj looks forward to working closely with the administration to ensure the region's inclusive growth and prosperity.
Speaking on the occasion, Wattal said that Kashmiri Pandits are hopeful that Kavinder Gupta, the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh UT, will voice their issues before the PM Modi government, according to Kiran Wattal, Convenor of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj. This optimism stems from Gupta's past advocacy for the community's rights and his experience in handling sensitive issues.Kashmiri Pandits are seeking a structured plan for their safe return to their ancestral homes in the Kashmir Valley, along with proper rehabilitation and security measures.The community is demanding protection of their temples and shrines from encroachment, exploitation, and misuse, as well as legislation to safeguard these assets, added Wattal.
Kashmiri Pandits are seeking employment opportunities and development programs to address their economic and social challenges.The community is also pushing for a Genocide and Rehabilitation Bill to officially recognize the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and provide justice to the victims.As Lieutenant Governor, Kavinder Gupta's role could be crucial in bringing attention to these issues and working with the central government to find solutions. Gupta has previously expressed his commitment to the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits, stating that they should not migrate from Kashmir and that safe passage should be created for them, said Wattal.
