In a swift and decisive judgment, an Agra Special Court (POCSO Act) has sentenced two men, Amit and Nikhil, to the death penalty for the horrific r*pe and murd*r of a five-year-old girl. Special Judge Sonika Chaudhary delivered the verdict, terming the brutal crime as "ghastly" and falling under the "rarest of rare" category, which warrants capital punishment. The case dates back to March 18, 2024, when the victim was abducted while playing outside her home in a village in the Bah area. The court found that Amit, a relative of the child, along with his accomplice Nikhil, lured the girl away, s*xually assaulted her, and then brutally murdered her before trying to extort a ransom of ₹6 lakh from the family. The swift police investigation and subsequent trial, which relied on compelling evidence including the recovery of the body and forensic analysis, led to the conviction. The victim's family, present in court during the sentencing, expressed their profound relief that justice had been delivered.

"Quality Education Must Go Hand in Hand with Moral and Ethical Values: Mohammad Altaf Dar"

: Socio Political Activist, Senior Trade Union Leader And Civic Reformer Mohammad Altaf Dar (Rajbagh) has made a heartfelt appeal to all coaching centres and educational institutions to focus not only on imparting quality education but also on instilling moral and ethical values among students.

He emphasized that in today’s fast-changing world, where competition and career-building dominate the educational landscape, it is equally essential to nurture character, discipline, compassion, and respect for humanity. “Education without values is incomplete. The need of the hour is to produce not only successful professionals but also responsible and morally upright citizens,” M Altafdar Rajbagh said.

He urged coaching centres, teachers, and parents to collectively ensure that students receive guidance that shapes their personality in a positive direction and prepares them to contribute meaningfully to society.

Mohammad Altaf Dar also highlighted that true education should enlighten both the mind and soul, creating individuals who uphold honesty, empathy, and social responsibility.
