*Shibu Soren, Jharkhand ex-Chief Minister and JMM founder, dies at 81*

Shibu Soren, former Jharkhand Chief Minister and founding patron of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha ( ) died at a Delhi hospital on Monday at the age of 81 after a prolonged illness.

His son and current Chief Minister announced the death, saying, "Respected Dishoom Guru has left us all. Today, I have become ".

The JMM patriarch, who had been away from active politics in recent years, was admitted to a hospital in in the last week of June with a -related ailment.

: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) State President Vivek Bali today visited Bijbehra to interact with local residents and address their grievances. During the meeting, locals expressed serious concerns regarding issues related to agricultural land in the region.

Vivek Bali patiently listened to the complaints and assured the residents that the matter would be taken up with the concerned government authorities without delay. He stated, “SBSP is committed to addressing the genuine concerns of the people, and we will make every possible effort to resolve this issue promptly.”

Highlighting SBSP’s unwavering stance on farmers’ rights, Vivek Bali said, “Farmers are the backbone of our economy. Vivek Bali further urged the government to take immediate action to resolve the agricultural land issues in Bijbehra and across Jammu and Kashmir.

*2 men from Punjab killed as SUV falls into gorge in Kathua*

: Two people lost their lives and three others sustained critical injuries when the SUV they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Sunday, police said.
All five passengers were members of a community kitchen service for the Amarnath Yatra from Punjab.

They were en route to the campsite at Chanderkote along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway when the accident occurred near Kainta Morh on the Kathua-Basohli road around 12.40 am, officials said.

Following the vehicle’s plunge into the deep gorge, local volunteers promptly initiated a rescue operation. All five individuals were taken to the Government Medical College Hospital in Kathua.

Mohinder Paul (60) and Pawan Madhan (50) were declared brought dead at the hospital. The three injured – Anil Monga, Sunny Arora and Sudhir – were admitted to hospital, officials said.

: The Nand Nala bridge on the Basohli-Mahanpur Road has been totally damaged near Mahanpur, resulting in a complete disruption of traffic movement towards Billawar, Mahanpur, Basohli, and Bani.
Authorities have advised commuters traveling from Bani or Basohli towards Kathua, Jammu, or other destinations to take alternative routes. The preferred route is via Basohli Atal Setu - Dunera Road, and further from Billawar to Kathua via Dyalachak-Challa Road.

Travelers are urged to follow official advisories and exercise caution.

A delegation of Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj, led by its Convenor, Kiran Wattal, today paid a courtesy visit to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Union Territory, Kavinder Gupta . During the meeting, the delegation highlighted community issues before LG Gupta and expressed hope that they will be communicated before union govt by LG Gupta.The delegation comprised prominent members of the Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj from different regions, including Kamal Krishan Ganjoo, Muktesh Yogi, Anil Kumar Bhan, Ashutosh Pandit, Shuban Krishan Bhat, Ashok Ji Raina, Kuldeep Kisroo, and Tej Krishen Raina, among others.

This optimism stems from Gupta's past advocacy for the community's rights and his experience in handling sensitive issues.Kashmiri Pandits are seeking a structured plan for their safe return to their ancestral homes in the Kashmir Valley, along with proper rehabilitation and security measures.The community is demanding protection of their temples and shrines from encroachment, exploitation, and misuse, as well as legislation to safeguard these assets, added Wattal.

Kashmiri Pandits are seeking employment opportunities and development programs to address their economic and social challenges.The community is also pushing for a Genocide and Rehabilitation Bill to officially recognize the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and provide justice to the victims.As Lieutenant Governor, Kavinder Gupta's role could be crucial in bringing attention to these issues and working with the central government to find solutions. Gupta has previously expressed his commitment to the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits, stating that they should not migrate from Kashmir and that safe passage should be created for them, said Wattal.

Today, Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad Sahib, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, met with Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir, UT and discussed with him various issues concerning the people of the Jammu and Kashmir.

One of the long-pending demand was the construction of Chenab House for the people of the erstwhile Doda District, comprising Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban. The project has been delayed for more than a decade. Notably, 5 kanals of land were allotted at Channi Rama, Jammu in 2008 during the tenure of Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Chief Minister of the then State of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chenab House was proposed to provide temporary lodging facilities to patients and attendants referred to Jammu for emergency medical treatment, as well as accommodation for poor and needy students visiting Jammu to appear in various examinations.

Furthermore, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor was requested to consider initiating a similar project for the residents of remote and hilly areas like Tangdar and Gurez, which remain cut off from the rest of Jammu and Kashmir for more than six months each year.
